Grizzly Bill wasn't going to stand for it. The natives tried to steal his bag full of elkhorn scrimshaw he made and I saved it from them. We both said 'Thanks'. Never saw him again.
I swear, I heard this same story from Eli Cash.

To follow up to on the DMB discussion I think it’s always funny to hear devotees of other jam bands shit on them as if the same criticisms aren’t generally transferable.

Full disclosure: I came up in the heart of Dave’s prime. The band played my prep school in 91/92 and I got hooked for all of high school first part of undergrad. Fell out for a long time then caught back up with them decade later for a few shows across the country from Chas to The Gorge with the wife.

They can play and they put on a hell of a show despite the occasional lyrics. The trim is better than most here can pull too fwiw.

That said, that was a different time and I have no clue what they’ve become now, but it was a ton of fun while it lasted.
I still call it The Jake.

I saw them a few times at fraternity parties. They were just part of the mid-Atlantic college scene. Never really got into them, though. My taste in music was much harder then.

I don't know who Eli Cash is but please post what he said. Since I talked about this story here prolly ten years ago, I'd be humored to know if he's plagiarizing my experience.

I’m not a avid mountain biker at all but this doesn’t look fun.

Having your center of gravity so high with those consequences.

I guess as a skier I’d ride that ridge cautiously though so I’m just bias.

Wonder if he had to pay for that rescue.

The bike broke in half also. It was honestly kind of shocking the way he rode that section. Not sure how many times he hit each section, but he had cleaned that one already at least once.

At first i thought that line looked ludicrous but after watching the whole vid I think parts of it would be really fun. I've hiked ridges like that in the UK and def wanted my bike sometimes.

That would have been a $400,000 crash in the USA.

The fact that he was able to get off his bike in that situation without landing on his head is incredible in and of itself. As bad as that crash was, there are so many places on that line that it could have been way worse.

Up and down stairs with a broken femur three days out from surgery.... holy shit.

Soooooo two days after we broke the record for most homicides in a year (in August), four cops were shot responding to an armed robbery this morning in NE Albuquerque……One in critical condition, currently in surgery…..Fuck I can’t wait to get out of here…….
What we have here is an intelligence failure. You may be familiar with staring directly at that when shaving. .

There’s a reason breaking bad was placed there. I used to use running as a cover to go explore places. Albuquerque is one of the tougher places I ran through. Early morning runs tend to be pretty safe

It's not just there. People are losing it for multiple reasons.

"A study of homicides during the first six months of this year in 22 cities showed that the number of murders increased by 16% compared to the same period in 2020 and by 42% compared to the first six months of 2019."
