Here's to a big season- the NBA smack thread 2010/11

NBA action is back! The kids are playing pre season tune ups. The league is more intriguing than ever. SO many questions. So much to play out.

Are the nuggets on the way down? is melo going to stay or go? is george karl going to eat JR Smith for lunch? is k mart more insane than we thought?

Are the Jazz ready to take the next step with big gay Al and Milsap ready to explode? Is AK47 bouncing back in a starting role?

Is Greg Oden going to play more than 30 games? is N Batum ready to impress? Can Roy lead this squad to the playoffs with such fragile bigs? Is Lemarcus as over rated as i think he is?

SO many questions. I am pumped for an awesome season, and feeling good about the Celtics as usual, and working on a collage as usual. Lets get the smack talk poppin'.

For extra maggot hoops excitement I'm in a fantasy league featuring NBA fanatics: Woodsy, The Rev, Atry50, Steven S Dallas, and Mild Bill. I am going to choke slam them all, fantasticly.

Fuck the South Beach Talents, may they all get fouled really hard by the big shamrock.

Only October and boozers hurt again
    I doorbell ditched his place,
    & that aint a sin
We got Bell on D-fense gettin it on
And, he aint leavin so kobe's not scorin
    So what you wanna do,
    sheeeit
AK47 fillin stat sheets and Millsap will too
So fuck the lake show and forget Durant's reach
But (but what) we don't love South beach, yeah!

So we gonna smoke a ounce to this
Jazz up, Cs down, while you motherfuckers bounce to this

It's going to be hard rooting for Shaq.

Really excited for the Celtics this year. Hope Nate Robinson doesn't push his luck with Shaq though. For now they look to be very entertaining as long as the injuries are kept to a minimum.

As a side note I really use to like Lebron - even while playing the Celtics - but after the past few months his body appears to be in proportion to those bobble-heads.

Fuck MJ he's well on his way to destroying another NBA franchise, only this time there is no one to fire him. Guess he learned from his mistake with the Wiz....but still thinks Kwame is due to breakout. Seriously went from having a borderline playoffs team to really not even having a chance, while at the same time taking on more salary. That's pretty tough to do this day and age. Only bonus is having the Heat in the division to watch a few more times than the rest of the league.

Couldn't agree more. Jordan's aftermath almost destroyed the sport. Don't get me wrong. He was an amazing player. I hate the fucking guy, but he was incredible. But his legacy led to there being a whole lot of I in team. As much as I fucking hate the Celtics, they are the antithesis of me basketball. Also note that while Kobe still has a ways to go, once he started buying into the team concept, the Lakers started picking up rings again.

I've heard that before. He'd better be in amazing shape, cause that 38 year old body doesn't move like it used to.

Pardon my bit of animosity towards him. When the Lakers traded him instead of Kobe, I thought Dr. Buss had made the worst mistake of his life. Turns out, I was horribly wrong. While I hate Kobe every bit as much now as I did then, keeping him and dumping Shaq has proved to be sagely to say the least. That said, at the time and for a few years after I had hoped that Shaq would prove Buss wrong. Problem is, Shaq proved himself to be a whiny beyotch instead. Now I dislike them both.

Probably a rerun but entertaining and spot on:
    [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIe23C1NvU4"]YouTube - LeBron James Is A Bitch Song[/nomedia]

    Predictions:
Jazz 2nd seed Dwill and Big hetero Al make the all star team, Celtics are third seed and lose in the second round, Paul Pierce flops a lot, durrant is widely regarded as the best player in the league after this season, the refs make many questionable calls and the Fakers and Miami Beat make the finals, portland is overrated once again and loses in the first round as a seventh seed, Jerry Sloan steps to some 6' 8'' 270 pound forward and they back down because they know they'll get their ass kicked.

    Fuck

People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Evan Turner, Andre Igudola, Jrue Holiday do not seem to be a good fit. I'd really really like to see the Sixers move Iguodola for really anything they can get. I think Turner, Holiday, Thaddeus, Brand, and Speights work better together.

Lord knows will will take AI 2.0. Maybe a team midseason that can make a run and needs a defender/athlete. Maybe OKC?

As for the season- The heat will not win the title. It's either going to be the Lakers of OKC.

If Shaq buys in and gives a shit then this team is going to be tough. I also love how nearly every offseason addition has made the team funnier, even if it is a "skipping my meds, banging LeBron's mom, and going all Road Warrior on a three-wheeled motorcycle" kind of funny.
