Why is USA as religious as it is?

As above - looking for modern rationales applicable to present generation, USA.

indoctrination? school system? propaganda? I really don't know but every time I visit The Excited States there's some random praise jesus billboard or in God we trust. maybe it's just me...

I know in Canada religion is a dying breed. I guess science has replaced religion with many explanations and answers that we used to rely on the church to provide us.

Yeah; a country founded in large part by religious dissidents is religious. Go figure.

Because god hates fags and commies, and 'mericans aren't fags or commies, so gods loves us, so we love god and baby Jesus too.

    It's simple really.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

This actually doesn't make any sense. They were religious dissidents. Not anti-religious ones.

And I don't think that religion is dying in Canada and certainly not because of what passes for science these days. If there is a decline it's because popular religions have had a hard time remaining relevant. It's hard to bring in new members when you preach one thing but don't live it.

You forgot money and sex with boys.

Many of my countrymen are poorly educated and afraid of anything that conflicts with their views. Therefore, they are religious.

well money IS power especialy in the USA ... they worship money down there

any time someone is trying to get you to do anything ask your self whats their agenda ,money ,duty ,its their job ??

who does anything just for the good of their fellow man ?

and who can agree on what IS the right thing to do,damn near every church is an off shoot of another church which came about when buddy got disenchanted with the status quo & took off to do his own gig where he could exert power/influence over A flock

personaly I don't discount religion or the possibility of getting religion it just hasnt hit me yet AND ... I have a better chance of winning the lotto or being struck by lightning

    Very true.

If you truly read into what Jesus preached, control and power was not his agenda. America like any other nation teaching its people that God is on their side no matter what sins they commit against those deemed as a threat.

So I would like to add Hypocrisy to your Control and Power.

It is definitely about the money. Probably more so in the U.S. than in any other country, so why not exploit a huge customer base that is easily swayed? And it's tax free.

    YOU'RE AN IDIOT.
Hey d-bag - here's something for you to think about: maybe (just maybe) not everybody here has their little panties in a wad 24/7 and flies into a rage whenever somebody disagrees with them. Maybe these same mags don't take this place uber-seriously. Maybe this even includes the vast majority of the people who post here as opposed to you and like 20 other thin-skinned douchebags. Just something to think about. -JER

in a town with 2 mills there are exactly 5 east indians whereas there would be enough in any other mill town in BC to open a temple(EA's always worked the mills),there are no chinese in a railroad town (chinese always worked the RR) and its hard for the 1st nations who outnumber whites by a big enough margin to elect the NDP (thats like a democrat who sez eh?) both provincialy & federaly to get a job

I have heard it said that indirectly CLAC wields the power in town

but you are white SO ... you could come back and get a job eh?

Ever notice how whenever there is a thread about Americans, most of the 'experts' are Canadians?

what passes for science? magnets, how do they work?

Actually not living what they preach is why we have a country that over 85% of the population calls themselves christian, while very few live a Christian lifestyle. Over 50% cheat on their spouses, pre marital sex is expected, porno sluts wear christian jewelry, popular music is filled with anti christian values, while most performers claim to be christians, etc...... Then we have the mega churches preaching prosperity and greed as if they are godly values. It's a joke.

    My thoughts exactly.
Flying the Bluehouse colors in Western Canada! Let me know if you want some rad skis!!

"He is god of snow; the one called Ullr. Son of Sif, step son of Thor. He is so fierce a bowman and ski-runner that none may contend! He is quite beautiful to look upon and has all the characteristics of a warrior. It is wise to invoke the name of Ullr in duels!"

I depend on American Artists and Rock Bands to increase my "expert" knowledge on Americans. Sorry if we get it wrong sometimes.

    I.E.
Don't want to be an American idiot.
Don't want a nation under the new media
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
    The subliminal mind fuck America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
    All across the alien nation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
    Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
    For that's enough to argue.

Well maybe I'm the faggot America.
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda.
    Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along to the age of paranoia.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
    All across the alien nation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
    Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
    For that's enough to argue.
