How many posts does this person have that you would give them the benefit of the doubt for 3 months?

3 months? 3 weeks is reasonable. My missus says you should out him NOW. And my wife's word is law(in my home, anyway)

No tracking within 3-5 days of ship & I would be on his ass. Three months, yikes. Out the username here, and rename the thread title with it. If there are others with transactions they need to know ASAP. Don't wait.

This thread should be enough to motivate the seller. Once a seller has someone's money there really isn't any excuse.

If not, I'm sure several people will be happy to participate in a good old fashioned e-lynching!

I would not have waited that long. There has always been excellent and speedy communication with every transaction I have had on TGR. Definitely not longer than 2 days between a message response. I would allow 5 days without much worry, after 10 days I would try any way to get in touch with the person, and after 14 days of not hearing from them I would cry wolf and make a thread in gear swap. If someone doesn't communicate and disappears after they receive your payment it is your duty to alert other mags so they will not have the same thing happen to them. I hope things work out in the end for you, but it shows all the signs and symptoms of a scammer

I agree with this. I waited 3 weeks during the season and then made one. busy or not, such a delay is unacceptable.

No communication replies after payment = scammer
You must be a very patient and trusting person, good traits except when money is involved.

Well CA, I'll say that U have the patience of that dude in the bible! I'll refrain from any other comment till your deadline upcoming! Then it's lock'n load time!

I jusyt did a deal with a Mag in Canada through Pay Pal, and the Bank[s], or PP or the Gubermint[s] held [used] our/my $ for 10 days from the time he transferred the money, before letting it clear in my PP account. I was ready to
blow sumpt'n up over that! Thieves in suits I say.

All the best to U in this case...

Well, sorry to break it to you but I strongly feel you have been fucked, dry, no warning! Can you please post his name so others don't have to experience this. How can you let it go past your paypal deadline of 45 days and still think your gonna see your skis. I hope you get them but ummmmmm, chances are slim to none and I think slim left town 3 months ago.

I'm nieve and think the best of everybody and it bit me in the ass hardcore in the past. But the first red flag to me would have been that you waited a month and after emailing him he says he never got your shipping info. Which apparently he did, but even so... if someone pays you and you didn't get the shipping info, you contact them to find it out. It sounds as if he never even made the effort to find where to ship the skis after he got the money... which can mean only 1 thing. He didn't intend on sending them anyways in my opinion.

i've purchased from across the border once, and made a sale across the border once.

each time it took 4-5 weeks for the item to make it's way to it's new home (which seemed like a long time at the time).

fingers crossed, but breath not held ...

Nearly all of my transactions on here have been cross-border. Ive never really had much of a problem receiving or shipping things.

I doubt thats the issue here(even customs doesnt hold things for months).

In fact I just sent skis from Vancouver to near San Fran and they arrived in exactly a week.

CA, good luck. Seems like things are getting somewhere finally.

    Good luck CA
Maybe you can light the fire under his ass and lay out as many underscores as it takes to spell his name. Then reveal a letter after every hour that goes by without concrete tracking info.

Agreed, unless there is good consistent communication. If cash was forwarded, the buyer must start talking with paypal, fa sho.

    Contents of said email?

I say out the mf'er. Unless you're ok with other mags possibly doing business with him and getting f'd over as well.

We've won it. It's going to get better now. You can sort of tell these things.
