A little stoke from Eastern WA...
Mt Stuart and company
Some serious lappage
But still A LOT untouched
Oh yeah, digging my new skis - is this too cliche of a shot?

Hyak was lots of fun still
4/9/11 – Had fun at Hyak starting just after 9. Snow poke off-piste pole test found a 2 inch thick breakable crust over 4 of consolidated gunk and then a total depth 18-30 of NW gankinesss. Snowboards were the better tool to out there today. Groomers were nice and firm to start, and they softened up nicely as the day went on in 40 degree overcast with a couple of light snow showers. Watched the Holy Oly comp for a while. Those guys and gals were really boosting. Called it good at 2 and 24 lifts as things had softened up thru mashed potatoes and started getting grabby even back in HV. TomK
Good runs when you get them.

AweShuksan, You do any laps out there? You got some of my lines in your shot. I was lapping from 8:00 to about 12:30, wondering if I ran into you. . It was pretty damn awesome huh.
a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Yes, AWESOME. But I liked the previous day better. In the haste to get out the door I accidentally grabbed the wrong pair of skins for the skis I brought so I stuck to laps in the area (and the sidecountry). And there was plenty of goodness to keep me entertained until I was drained. Maybe you can identify yourself in this crop? Or at least a close-up of your lines? Photo was taken at 10:45. I did meet a mixed pair briefly (skier with a snowboarder) but they were dropping into the lakes from Blueberry cat track.

Re; enchantments.
FYI....and mine?
Icicle creek road was hit by a big mudslide. like 3-4' of mud for a mile, all on the road. still closed before 8 mile CG as of 4-8. adding a mile or two onto an alreday long approach.
Opening when? I think they started work on clearing it.

Here's my last episode of Crystal Mountain Moments.
After tearing my rotator cuff, my season almost ended, but I did manage to scrape some decent footage. Includes my Crystal Mountain Freeride Junior Championship lines.
Not the craziest footage, but here it is.
Check it!

Got three lines from Blueberry to left of the horn towards Table today. Bliss. Sun. Pow. Beer.
Putting the "core" in corporate, one turn at a time.

Had a good day at crystal. Place was empty, sun was shining, good snow.
North faces were good, variable powder on top of firmer snow. South faces were soft snow on refrozen corn, still fun to ski.Last edited by XavierD; 04-13-2011 at 12:47 PM.

^^^^^ Indeed! I had to take advantage of the last week for the Shell two for one. All the south aspect was pretty rotten and there's a pretty good crust everywhere but just enough fresh to make it ok. Lines off Silver King we're real nice!
The crown from the Bear Pits avy is crazy huge!

Thanks for the heads up. However, according to this article it is only closed between 7:30 am and 4 pm:

I could not find any info about this on the WSDOT website. Odd.

13" of new at 24 degrees today. Tomorrow may just be a good day for a little road trip.
Living vicariously through myself.

And the Ski Report is wrong. It's dated today at 2:50pm, lists only 6" of new but it is really yesterday's report. I hope it keeps some peeps at home. Not to sound too greedy or anything but I'm looking forward to skiing over 2 feet of untracked pow tomorrow
Ahahahaha! My bonz were right! Mid April pow of surprising depth and quality!
No end in sight!

Skin laps at Alpy last night. 12" - 18" of fresh sticky (at times tricky) pow. More on the way. Nutty April

Yea man, Alpy skin laps were amazing last night. Pockets of 2 feet and face shots were had in Lower Nash. Watch for the rolling sluffs though, they were getting pretty big.

Nothing tricky about Dawn patrol laps across the street this morning. 16" down low and 24"+ up a few thousand ft.
Well, a little tricky (too deep) for Nash dog.
2 laps 3.5k before 9am. Wish I could have joined the group of 3 coming up to ski the Slot on the second lap. Stupid 11am Friday work mtgs.Move upside and let the man go through...
