Patience?
Fuck patience, I've already skied, and now the snow is leaving?
That's just mean/cruel/rude.

pineapples
we didn't lose ALL our snow, just the lower elevation stuff. i have it on good authority that some areas (in the 6500'+ range, slightly east of the crest) saw mostly snow yesterday, 1" of H20 equivalent.

at least the nice weather has allowed WSDOT to reopen Cayuse Pass....

Chinook still closed, but its an easy tour up from Cayuse to get there...hopefully it stays open through the next storm system.

you guys in the pnw rule! it's not all about the turns - mostly but not all - plus you gave an honest account of the situation.

I would have photos, some nice pretty mountainous ones from the sunrise but I come home to find that my newish memory card has just died. That, and I've practically lost my voice from not sleeping enough for a couple of nights.
We got royally owned on this one. It was proper payment for two good October days.

At least I'm not being spited as badly as I thought for moving from Pdx to Norcal in a La Nina year, yet anyway. Had a similar solo mission up Lassen last weekend, except it was a 6 mile hike/skin of 3000' and about a hundred yards worth of turns on a bulletproof rain crust.... Soon enough boys, soon enough.
