Third non-patroller track down Estelle (mine's the sexy one under Castle), over to pond slope. After that, three high T laps, one of them out to the knife edge before Grouse. A few other runs here and there, then an inner outer outer, and three Condo runs, two from right near Fallopian Tubes.
And with all the locals' passes blacked out, I didn't have much competition...Last edited by mcski; 02-21-2011, 03:38 PM.Comment

Agreed with all about this weekend re: Alpine. Really a great time. Yesterday put in 4 laps all out to Pond Rocks - I just couldn't get enough. Snow was great (even late in the day when it was getting grabby), and those little cliffs all over that face are fun. Not a lot of people venturing all the way out there in the general scheme of things. Didn't head out to High-T as my back has really been bothering me (pulled it a week ago) and I called it a day around 2.
Saturday was very fun on High Yellow. No surprise there.Comment

I can't turn my neck to the side or down. I'm pretty sure my body landed, stopped, and my head kept going. Flat ass landing but I'm glad I did it. I've been staring at that rock since I was 3 years old saying "someday". Yesterday was that day.
And yeah, some patroller past over on the lift and yelled at me for not pole whacking, said I lost all my points. WTF, I didn't know G.N.A.R. made it to Dodge Ridge, HAHAHAHAHAHA funny shit.Last edited by HellcatBlake; 02-21-2011, 08:50 PM.Sac State

no jeff that was a friend who i hiked w/ on his 2nd lap. he went elsewhere on his 2nd while i "tried" to ski the main fall line hollywood shot to the left of the snag and proceeded to hit 2 consecutive rocks that were barely covered, ate shit and then took a ride in my sluff till i was able to catch an edge and traverse out of it. i did lose one of my poles in the sluff pile and gained a shitload of adrenaline. thank goodness i had my dynafiddles locked down or i woulda lost them as well and not have been able to traverse out of the slide. then after taking gthe kiddies to school i skied the one heavenry valley line we didnt get a chance to hit yesterday and twas still $$$$.Comment

I can second, or third the HuckNeck that everyone is feeling. Apparently I completely forgot how to land and either backslap or double heel yardsale damn near every cliff I am hitting this year.
Silvy was fun today, but our day was busted from the get go. First off, Squaw Valley Rd was a total shitshow before they put the cones up this morning. First run in Silvy I double heel eject off the small cliff at the top of tram bowl, then my buddy trumps me and jumps like 15ft to rock, somehow sticks it, but tweaks his back. My main goal today was to throw The Drifter, but on the first lap we ended up at Flat Bastard, so decided to ski down and try the next lap. Next lap we got to Drifter and the take off had more rocks in it then my Byshmills does. Next lap we went to Palisades b/c we swore we saw people doing the hike and patrol told us it was closed, even though there were clearly people climbing and later riding it. So we head to Mainline Pocket next and, well, I broke myself. Hour in TTMG, then head to Granite Peak, only to bail on the hike because I cant hold my pole and apparently turn into a total retard without those things. Anywho, hope you all got some goods, see you in Siberia line tommorow. . . . . . end rant
Keep the stoke coming, I love this thread
Kirk, if you see this, lets ski this week, I saw Sean today too, so hes around.Comment

I hear you, I skied the same way on Saturday at Kirkwood. Hoping for some redemption Friday and Saturday.
ANYWAY, here's what the Spur looked like when they shuttled me through on Saturday around 4pm.

Did some slacking off of the backside of the northern summit of Mt Judah @ Sugar Bowl today. Powder was deep and felt fresh and there is a ton more to be had. Ski patrol had bombed a cornice off onto a NW facing slope (moderate danger rating) back there and even then there was absolutely no avi movement. Snowpack seemed pretty dang solid. Was awesome - although nothing beats the powder at Squaw last Thursday...Comment
