7/26/10 Imp Peak
Went to ski the NW couloir of the little devil. It was fun.
Near the th with a long way to go, objective nowhere in sight.
After 2 1/2 hours, still no sign of Imp, but snow is finally off in the distance.
Finally get to see the couloir after 3 1/2 hours. Allright..
Next came a solid mile of bushwhacking uphill through this:
Made it out of the thick woods, and now time to hang out until evening falls. Home for the night:
My temporary backyard:
I really liked the view from my kitchen:
After the sun during my walk in, I was a little disappointed to wake to find cloudy skies, but the game was still on. Up on the moraines, I can see the snow a little better.
Time to get up close and personal with this thing
On the saddle of Imp, looking south.
I came from way down there!
Now this is what I like to see. Here we go!
Woohoo! Take that summer!!
Hoping to go ski the Blaze next week (thanks for the beta Tone!). Let me know if you want to suffer through it with me. See ya 'round.Last edited by ODHGABFE; 08-19-2010 at 11:53 AM.
I think the potato gun proved the stability.

nice work!
I like how you finished that last turn so close to the rocks at the bottom, way to get after summer snow.

Sa-weet! I was biking up Taylors fork a few weeks ago and was eyeing the entire Taylor-Hilgard unit. Made me seriously think about attempting an August ski...
That whole area is amazing. Definitely going to get back there this winter.
Pretty nice tracks you layed down there; congrats!
