This thread makes me not want to apply to law school.

I'm not going to say you shouldn't - but you should think long and hard about why you want to go to law school and what you want to do. There are a plethora of articles about how terrible the job market is (most recent I saw was from the ABA journal saying it is one of the hardest markets in our current economic downturn of terrible job markets).

Do it if it is something you want to do AND if you can come out nearly debt free - don't do it if you are looking to make a bunch of money, you will take on a ton of debt, and/or you are hoping for job security.
