TR Pow day at El Colorado, Chile

The day got off to a decidedly Chilean start, with the lifts not spinning due the lifties being on strike. Luckily we were only forced to stare at the 12-18¨of untracked fluff blanketing the slopes of El Colorado for about 45 minutes before the issue was resolved and the lifts started spinning.

I was actually working all day, teaching a group of young Chilean skiers how to shred pow. Which in itself wasn´t so bad. Not bad either was the run at lunch where I ate dry Andean fluff instead of a sandwich, nor the run down the Basurero to the road at the end of the day after we were done ¨working.¨

    Kids go poof!

    Apres-work meeting.

Victor finds the snow conditions to be superior to the cleanliness of the image sensor in my camera.

    Meanwhile back at home...

    I enjoyed the view...

And listened to Chino jam out.

And now? Its dumping. Si quiero mas.

    Hasta la proxima!

And hit me up if you´re in the Farellones area this summer, I need touring partners.

That looks fun and I hate you times e-to-the-eye-pie. Would you please send me Mia's phone number? (No, really, I just want my little Index topo and I'm going to Sea-atoll.)

Nice pics. Thanks for the stoke. El Colorado may not have the gnarliest terrain but when they have snow it sure beats anything you can ski in the Northern hemi during the month of July. Wish I was there now....

there is a special place in heaven reserved for those that teach children to ski powder! far cry from the bird on a powder day - first lap and it is gone! don't even ask about the 20 turn snow slabs we are skiing "up over". thanks for sharing

fuck. i hate everyone that is in chile now.

yesterday i hiked at alta and saw a small ribbon of snow down gunsight and thought. damn, that would totally be worth skiing, but i think the rain carried it away last night.

awesome pics alto keep 'em coming, it's the only thing stopping me from developing a rad new addiction like parcheesi...or heroin.

That makes the summer times blues more tolerable.

That and my wife just announced that we need to go skiing in Austria this winter, so the blues aren't so blue anymore.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...
