Good flick! I beg to differ re "B movie"; way too novel/creative, in concept, plot, and vibe to qualify by my definition, but anyway, seems that discussion already happened here. I liked the robotic fight scenes, and I'm always game for a good dystopian AI tale.

I did not expect to like Monsters about the Menendez brothers killing their parents, but I saw Chloe Sevigny post about it on Instagram so I decided to watch an episode or two. Got sucked in and it's actually pretty compelling with great acting. I vaguely remember when this murder happened but didn't know any details. Pretty horrific story.

Feels like there hasn't been a quality production from Netflix in years... Although the international section usually delivers

"Detroiters" starring Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson is now available. It originally aired on Comedy Central in 2017-18. I'm hoping Netflix picking it up could mean a new season is on the way, but perhaps wishful thinking.

They're there - relatively rare, with lots of shit in between, but they're there.

Watched "Will & Harper" last night. It's a documentary that follows Will Ferrell and his friend Harper Steele on a road trip across the US after Harper had transitioned to a woman. I enjoyed it. At turns funny, awkward, and sad but ultimately endearing.

    I am intrigued by this…

The core female cast collectively won the “Best Actress” category at this year’s Cannes, the first time that this has happened, fwiw.

I’m rewatching “Don’t Look Up” - holy hell does it hit harder 3 years later. Almost unbearable to watch given how closely it mimics current events.

I especially liked the killer asteroid capture scheme.

Woman of the Hour is pretty good. Directed and starring Anna Kendrick. Based on the true story of serial killer Rodney Alcala.

    A cartel musical?
    Yup.
Saw this in the theater last month and dug it.

    Think West Side Story-meets-Narcos.

It’s super stylized and the acting and singing is pretty top notch.

I just watched this on Netflix and didn't even realize until later that this came out six years ago. I enjoyed it. They probably could have edited it down slightly, but overall interesting and well acted. Patricia Arquette was great.

    KNEECAP

    dropping 12/2

    Cue this one up!!!

This flick is a gonzo good and insanely ribald origin story about Ireland’s “greatest” rap group.

It’s like Trainspotting lathered up with grimy electro beats and aggressive Gaeilge verbiage.

    Completely and utterly top notch.

Cool - The Commitments turned up to ..... 15?
I want to watch it just to see Fassbinder get so out of his usual stoic roles.
