Was just about to bring this to the table; one more episode to go in season 2 and I have to say they really bumped it up a notch over season one (not bad, but not as good as season 2). Occasionally they pull an orangutang out of a hat to wiggle out of some tight shit, but all in all very fresh takes on the time travel thing. Should be fun in the final episode confrontation with 0001

kind of requisite for adjustment disorder/ anti personality disorder to setup the self diagnosed potential serial killer thing

That being said i couldn't get part the second episode of game of thrones because of the killing of kids.

To my surprise, I actually liked it. The movie transcends any semblance of plausibility, but that’s par for the course.

So, the critics loved “Last Jedi”, and I thought it was “meh”, and they hated “Bright”, which I liked a lot more. Hmm...
goes to show ya, critics are biased before they even see the movie.
I'm not a huge fan of star trek , star wars, etc but I get it.
    I thought Bright was great.

That's pretty much what it's been from the beginning but the zombies of course were more center stage in the beginning. Just as with the comics, it has always been more about the characters and their drama. The zombies just provided the setting. Show diverged from the comics a bit, but man have they brought it all back together in the last couple seasons. Negan is far worse of a villain than the zombies have EVER been. Dude is straight evil. I remember reading the fan mail responses from Robert Kirkman back when I read the comics and they were talking about how the whole thing is really about the complete evolution of society if something catastrophic were to happen. Zombies were just the particular vehicle they chose to make it happen.

WD just seems to drag on and on and on. The joke is: Can we get some zombie carnage soon, please !
the dialogue seems lame and it translates to lazy writing, for me. American Horror Story, for example, keeps me riveted. I don't want to miss a little nuance that might turn up later in the story. Sorry, but walking dead doesn't do it for me, at all. it has potential, but it's never realized.

Watched the first couple last night. Man that payday loan guy is just the epitome of an asshole. Not one fuck given about the harm he was doing to people.

Warning:before you watch Cloverfield Paradox consider eating Tide Pods or reading some Jane Austin. You're welcome.

Yeah. I believe that episode is already going down as one of the absolute best in TV history. SO well written and masterfully executed.

I was halfway through the first episode before I realized I'd read the book, and they seem to be following it pretty well. I'm looking forward to the rest--which seems like high praise for the series and a really sad comment on the book!

I have one more episode to go.
I like the Takeshi Kovacs series of books and was excited / apprehensive when I heard Altered Carbon was being adapted for the screen.(Don't Fuck it up!)
Was also surprised that there wasn't much rewrite, until they introduce his sister.
I think that they might be taking elements from two different books and combining the storyline?
It's been awhile since I've read them though; the first half of the season is (to my recollection) a direct adaption.

Richard Morgan is the author of the books.
13 (Thirteen) is another good one from him.

Liking Altered Carbon a lot but I can't for the life of me get used to Joel Kinnaman's beefy frame. I keep seeing the scrawny version of him from The Killing and thinking they glued his head on a terminator's body. Dude put on 75 lbs of muscle or starved himself hard during The Killing.

I really enjoyed Black Spot (Zone Blanche). French/Belgian semi-creepy semi-witchy show. Great dialogue which is, for once, really well subtitled.

My wife calls him Abs McGee, as in “Let’s watch that show with Abs McGee in it.”

JJ Abrams movie execution: Take some un-answered, but not really important to the plot, question in one movie/show, then create a whole movie to explain it.
How did Kirk pass the Kobayashi Maru = Star Trek
How did the rebels get the death star plans = Rogue One
Where did the giant dinosaur monsters come from in Cloverfield = Cloverfield Paradox.
Next in the works Jennifer Garner = Sydney Bristow (coming to Hulu)

Holy crap that's the same guy? That's bonkers. Might as well be Linden, Kovacs looks so different.

Trying to get into AC. So far I think it is really well done but I find the pacing a little slow. It doesn't have that gotta binge more feel to it. I'm happy watching a little at a time which is a nice break from my usual binge habits I guess

Same here--not burning through it but not sad about that. I have a habit of letting things run in the background while I'm working on a project, but this one seems to require some attention.

I kinda noticed the sister flashbacks/backstory didn't seem familiar, thanks for mentioning that, pfluffenmeister.
