    One Second After

Has anyone else read this book?

Made me think - and call me crazy, but I've been stocking up on water, rice, and non-perishables (and ammo) ever since. Some of the pulling on the heartstrings stuff was a little much but damn.... if we get hit by an EMP attack, would armed militia around the country combined with with sane-type survivalists with some gun training and anyone with enough gonads to fire a weapon be enough to overpower the crazy criminal mobs who just want to eat your dogs and maybe even you?

And a note to hippy, crunchy, earthy types out there: you're screwed.
People shooting ski areas should be sued.

Except hippies often know how to grow and make their own food.
Education must be the answer, we've tried ignorance and it doesn't work!

sounds a lot like this film:

good movie, well done but man, what a depressing story. i'm not sure playing survivalist after such an event is worth all the mental anguish that one would encounter. i think i would just pack up as much food and shit as i could sled up into the mountains and camp and ski until the end.
