Continuing the Apple TV+ theme: Foundation season 2
I thought I could tell myself that it was only very loosely based on the novel and that the show title really was "Try to Keep Up", but ....... my failure was obvious after first episode of the second season.
I will continue to watch it, however, due to the possibility that thee android, Demerzol, is the Mule substitute. Even if she isn't, her character is far and away the most interesting.

I’ve been delving into THE WILD WILD WEST on Prime.
I fondly remember the color seasons being in syndication when I was a wee lad.
I always wanted those tight fitting pants and the short bolero jacket Jim West wore.
I’ve started with the original b/w episodes, which I don’t recall having ever seen.
It’s hella formulaic, they use the same sets over and over, it’s rather sexist, and there’s an abundance of white folks portraying native Americans, but it’s still kinda fun to watch. Plus there is the odd socio-political commentary here and there.
It was also the blueprint for later shows like Batman and you can see Robert Conrad in Tom Cruise, especially his Ethan Hunt character. (And Conrad did the majority of his own stunts, too, like Cruise). You can also see some similarities between the character of James T. West and James T. Kirk (William Shatner); Star Trek debuted a year after TWWW. I also see quite a few similarities between actor Scott Caan and Conrad, too (that self-assured swagger).
From a thematic standpoint, it’s also one of the earliest examples of Steam Punk.
I still dig the animated opening credit sequence. It’s still tres cool. As is the theme music.
Interesting to note, the show was cancelled after 4 seasons because it was deemed too violent.

I continue to be disappointed by Foundation, though I'm sure I'll watch it to the end.
Demerzol is definitely the most interesting character and I quite like the tripartate Emperor clones dicanted at different times; nearly the height of hedonism and decadence.
Plus bringing down the space elevator in the first episode was sweet.
But there are just too many magical/mystical/near-zero-probability events strung together with over-emotional caterwauling women (who are too fucking smart to be acting as they are written) for me too really enjoy it.

Muscle Mayhem, a documentary about American Gladiators that aired 2989-1996, is pretty entertaining.

I yammered about it a few times in this very thread some four years back…

If you’re digging it, then give Copenhagen Cowboy on NF a whirl (same director).

Deer Lady's origin story is featured in the latest Reservation Dogs episode and it's really good. If anyone hasn't watched this series yet, what are you doing?

If you don't need anything serious in your life, and enjoy watching overly-enthuastic people getting wrecked while commentators make fun of them, Amazon has remade Takeshi's Castle. Yes, the original Japanese version before MXC made it raunchy and before wipeout ripped off the idea.
The whole family can enjoy the madness of a Japanese game show designed to make everyone lose.Wait, how can we trust this guy^^^ He's clearly not DJSapp
