helicopter charter - how much roughly?

Early in the brainstorming phase but was wondering if someone could give me a very rough estimate of what it costs to charter a helicopter. (I realise there are tons of potential variables).

A regular sized copter, daytime flying for 2 passengers (+pilot), no heavy cargo, only flying in good weather, good landing sites etc. Nothing special, just wanted to know roughly per hour what I could expect.

This would be in an area where there are many helicopter companies in business but there isn't much demand for sightseeing flights.

A private jet is $3000 per hour. How much is a heli?

Depends on location, but you could probably get a RU-44 with pilot for 4-500/hour. Something nicer would cost a lot more.

So, Kobe is dropping minimum $150k yearly to go to work and back ?

i figure 3 round trips per week for 6 months of the year at $1000 each way(he's not taking no ru-44).

must be nice.(he is rumored to take a heli to work at staples).

Last I heard around $1,400-1,500 per hour for a no frills jet ranger.

Probably a lot more! Two things you don't skimp on are maintenance and pilots on heli's.

It's the dead head time, flying back empty, that kills most charters.
