Shipping a Car: EC -> WC
Anyone got any recommendations on companies? Who to use? Who to avoid? Good experiences? Should I get it enclosed or open? Does it matter?
Gotta ship my '01 Suby Outback out west with me (driving it is not an option, unfortunately)
Thanks!Hail Ullr

DAS...Dependable Auto Shippers.
Did it with a CR-V 4 years ago (NJ --> UT) cost just under a grand and took about 2 week (this will vary depending on how fast they can fill a truck). I did NOT do enclosed as there is/was no need...
Car arrived as promised and as expected.
Good experience.
Oh yeah and SEARCH FUNCTION JONG....this has been covered over and over in here...shit i think there was a thread like 2 weeks ago asking this exact question.

Be aware they do not cover the stuff inside the car.
Had a friend whose car was on a trailer that got nailed by a train. They covered the car, but he was out all the shit he packed in there.
Chances are slim this will happen, but there it is.

oh and with an '01 subie unless its a show car or you are detailing the fuck out of it every other weekend go open. Closed trailers are way more expensive and far less available.
