5.23.10 Parallel Trail, Teton Pass. POV

More single angle rather long helmet cam. But whatever, view if you'd like

Some new and rebuilt jumps out there- so much fun! And so buffed that I don't know if I'll be riding my SX trail much this year. Definitely on Lithium...

Quite a bit of rain and snow last night, so keep waiting for sunny skies and a warm breeze. Or don't, if you're still ripping pow!

I was just up there over the weekend. Based on feedback from another "brocal" (starts with "ride", ends with "it" ) I left my mtb at home and only had my road bike...

Imagine my mood when I saw folks exiting the pass on mtb's in Wilson on Friday during my road ride and looking at all the shuttle trucks on the pass Sunday on my way back to SLC... Oh well, might get another chance to head up there in a few weeks on my new ride.

    Looks good for sure.

On a slightly OT note, have you had any issues with your Mojo? Looks like you ride it hard, and I'd like to hear how it's workign out for you. I only ask because I'm getting the HD version, my first carbon MTB. I'm a R&D engineer in aerospace composites and know enough to be skeptical, but also pretty confident in the HD. But the construction and design of the HD combined with the delay on the DW RFX convinced me to take a chance.

    Thanks,
    UB

    Hah...my ploy worked!

(in all seriousness, there have only been a few hours of dry riding in two weeks)

The Mojo, in short, is the bees knees.

That said, I am cautious about what I ride with it. But really, that seldom comes into play. If there is a chance I might cartwheel and catapult the bike onto boulders, I'll take pause.

For the HD I think the extra travel + slackened angles + a little more beef = I would prefer it to my standard mojo. And I reallllly like mine.

I think once you get the chance to ride your new bike, you'll be very, very happy with your decision.

And for trail conditions in JH right now... I would have given you the same recommendation as Rideit. You'll just have to come back again! You'll have way more trails to ride than what's currently available.

No worries, just giving you some crap. The GF would have wanted to punch me in the face or crotch had I took her down this stuff anyway. She would have made a great shuttle driver though. I had every chance to bring the mtb and didn't for more reasons than just your recommendation. Only time I would have had for mtb'ing would have been Saturday and it rained/snowed most the day anyway. We had good road rides Friday around Jackson/Wilson and then in GTNP on Sunday before we left.

Good to hear. I know I'll like the HD, it is very similar geo to a friends IH 6-point, which is actually a killer bike as far as department store rides go And I know I like the DW link. Excited for this bike for sure. As far as the carbon goes, I have all kinds of ultrasonic and x-ray inspection toys at work, I plan to scan it right when I get it as a baseline, then as it takes hits I can re-scan for damage. Should keep me from any surprises... Combine some work and play I guess I'm pretty calculated in my riding, I hit lots of jumps and stuff and ride fast, but I am not the type of rider that crashes a ton. By the time I step up to a new hit I'm pretty confident that I won't be cartwheeling myself and my bike on it... most of the time anyway...

    Thanks for the info.

    Dude....

Highly sick. Lovin' the chargin' on the trail-bike! And that dirt - holy fuck.

I wish the powers that be in my neck of the woulds would get their panties out of a wad and let us build some jumps in our trails.
    Chocolate? This is doodoo, BABY!
