Tahoe Homie Parnters Wanted Thread
Feel free to use this thread to find ski/snowboard hook-ups. (bc only please)
Partners Needed 11-6-04
With telenater’s involvement being somewhat undecided due to a broken tele binding, I though I’d throw the feelers out there for additional interested parties.
Starting early at Echo or Carson Pass.
Should be good with the mid week snow, good weather, and a day of settling.
Who’s in?
Gimpy?
Joesnow?
etc

any chance you'll take 11/7? I kinda want to be at KW for some vert . . . but definitely want a day of hiking this weekend too . . .

Hi kellie,
I haven’t been out in two weeks so I’m kinda chompin at the bit.
Waiting until Sunday might also mean less powder due to other bc travelers and warming weather.
If it comes down to going or not going I might be able to wait. Do you still have my email?

Ditto kellie. Saturday I want to get my vert on, but I'm open to Sunday. Place to crash Sat night would also make my life excellent (I have $ and liquor).

FYI, ridiculously warm today in tahoe, snow melting, go saturday, kellie, don't wait till sunday, and go for elevation. ( i think carson pass will be better than echo).

I'm out for the weekend completely. I'll be making my computer dance.
But, if anyone wants a GIS model that would be really effective for telling you where to put your tent to get the first and/or last rays of sunlight in a day, I got that in spades."if the city is visibly one of humankind's greatest achievements, its uncontrolled evolution also can lead to desecration of both nature and the human spirit."

Hey, I'm in Tahoe at the moment, no $ for lift tickets so I'm really keen to go touring any (every) day . (Got avi gear.) Went up Waterhouse today with Geoff, it was powder at the top but pretty sticky on lower and sunnier slopes. We took 2 cars so we could shuttle and ski the N side but there was not enough snow there

Went up to Red Lakes Peak again today. The skin up was brutal. The wind was howling, it was freezing, and the snow was nearly bulletproof. Went around the back/left of the big rock on top and the snow was slabby. The worst ascent conditions I've ever been in, which isn't saying too much since I haven't done a lot of tours. But still, it sucked. We stuck to the trees on the way down to Crater Lake. The snow was still sweet in there; shin to knee deep pow down low. But everything that was exposed sucked ass.
The wind really did a number on the whole Carson Pass area. It was blowing in from the Northeast or so. Kirkwood could be interesting tomorrow. We'll just have to see."I knew in an instant that the three dollars I had spent on wine would not go to waste."

Me & Mel and the red-dog are doing Carson pass to Kirkwood tomorrow. Anyone else is welcome to join us. Look for the manic border collie
We did Waterhouse yesterday. Redskea seemed to be enjoying herself......Last edited by Geoff; 11-07-2004 at 11:03 AM.

How was it today?
Just wanted to see if the snow held up. Thursday was awesome, but it sounded like it was supposed to warm up.

Thanks for the conditions reports lph and Arty.
Redskea,
I’m a weekend warrior but often in need of partners. Keep in touch.
Geoff,
Cool pic and looks like good conditions.
Big Blue,
It was pretty dang good for 11-6. It did get warm but there should still be powder in the trees for another day or two. The mid elevation snow was the best.
Here are some pics.
We went to a peak named after a pole.

A few more from that day.....
The upper mountain may have had the skintrack to heaven, but you had to go through a brushy hell first. Gimpy must've taken one on the melon:

BCR again, same line:

Saturday was a great day. How'd that video turn out BCR? I'm sure the footage I shot is perfect material for that anti-shake software you have.

Those look like some damn fine turns, and a fun line! The view from afar is deceiving in terms of coverage!

I think some of us are going tomorrow, but I don't have any details either at this point.

Not meaning to interrupt you guys' conversation , - just wanted to say that I'll be headed that way within a month to get my truck. Want to connect with a storm and ski powder all the way , of course...
Anyway, hopefully some of you will want to hook up for turns.Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.
