    Guided by Voices

Any other GBV fans here? They're doing their final tour right now. Has anyone been to one of the shows? They hit Seattle later this month. Not sure if I'll make the show or not.

I have to say, the final album Half Smiles of the Decomposed isn't terrific. There's kind of a long stretch in the middle that's a real snoozer for me. "Girls of Wild Strawberries" does rank as one of their greatest alltime songs, though.

It will be interesting to see what Bob does after GBV. I can't believe he'll be quiet for long.

love GBV, have seen them live once, about 5 yrs ago, and it was awesome! plan to see them this Sat the 13th @ the Filmore in SF, as its their last tour apparently. haven't bought anything new from them in like 5 yrs - seems like they used to put out 1-2 albums a yr! but their first few albums were great. need to look through my collection and pull 'em out and give 'em a listen again, it's been awhile...

Fortunately, we have a huge back catalog and I just rediscovered Airport 5.

    ...can't believe it's been like 5 years.

Thanks! I'll have to check it out.

What a thread. A couple posts in 2004, one in 2010, now a couple in 2015.
