TR: Moving on up to the West Side

While I know most places west are experiencing unreal spring conditions, the easterners have been enjoying spring in a different way. We spent 2 days up on the NE's tallest point with a few mags over the course of the trip. Fixed Grip, I've seen black diamonds, Pearl Jam, Vt Freeheel, Speed Freak, and Skiboyj.

There had been lots of activity the previous few days, wet slides, icing, rain, snow classic EC mix. Then the skies opened and it was back to back 50 degree days and blue skies giving way to the best corn of all season.

Low lying fog at around 3,000 ft made for an interesting skin

but all was good once we came through

Surveying fun stuff to schuss down

VTfreeheel eager cause he knows that

    options abound

We found a line we were comfortable with given recent stability
    I've seen black diamonds

Free your heel free your mind mannn...

Fixed Grip loves butter on his corn

    And nearing the finish line

    Next Day on the up

Fixed Grip, "this isn't russia, is this russia?"

Then we head to the west snow fields, where we get excellent cell receptio

    Vtfreeheel

get your skis shined up grab a stick of juicy fruit!

Pearl Jam 09's girl, Cristal, who booted all day while we skinned

SkiboyJ coming out of the snow fields

    Pure Wet Smoke, schusssss

    Hes a is super SpeedFreak

PJ09 stoked on his first trip up

    Fixed finishing it out

Freeheel tasting some of that wet smoke

Skiboyj slaying the wet!(photos courtesy PJ09)

    I ski sometimes

Spring touring season us upon us on the EC, been here since end of Feb, we just didn't know it until now Heres to many more days like this!

ok so I'm no skier, but is your head more important than your knees ??? clearly wearing ski pants and sunnies is wrong ??? yes I'm on 2 planks, its a split board.

Good stuff, digging the pic with the crew in the little A ravine. April fools day was so good. No wind bluebird with perfect corn, priceless.

Way to flex the crap out of the skis, and the full face and shorts combo is totally badass.

    Nice TR guys.

Sick pics dude. Glad to ski it with you. Thinking about heading up next weekend. Avi kit should be here by early next week. Beacon, Probe, Axe, Whippet, etc. Stoked.

I can only repeat what I said before , a great two days with an awesome group of Maggots.
Those who were on the fence can see what they missed.

The sunnies and pants comment is the result of leaving My helmets [reg and full] on the kitchen table at 5 am.

    Thanks Dalton!

Yeah soon, watching the weather, I will have the lighter set up next time, slogging 8k vert with 20lbs on your feet is devastating.
