Merry Marmot Festival-FREE PASSES, BEEEERR, Mayhem, Family Fun, Skiing, Demo's, BBQ,

This is not your ordinary run of the mill spam, no siree bob. This is SUPER spam, the kind you really want to look at. On April 3rd, 2010 we will be having our annual Merry Marmot festival to help usher in spring. Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your enemies, but most importantly, bring yourself.

There will be events throughout the day, both for the entire family and the slightly older crowd complete with a costume contest, downhill kayak race and a Downhill dummy race.

For a cool $10 entry fee per dummy, you have a pretty good chance of skiing for free (minus the ten dollars you spent to enter) next season-first place takes home a season pass, second takes a 10 punch pass and third takes a three hole punch pass (keep the crude jokes to a minimum, eh ). So far, not many people know about this new event, so your chances go up even more!!! This event WILL have all he neccesary things to make an event a ski event-carnage, hucking, broken skis, broken dummies, and quite possibly FIRE!!!

We will have demos available from several shops in town along with the Icelantic demo fleet. There will be both alpine/at and tele setups available to play with.

There will be shwag, drawings, mayhem, debauchery, silent auction, and much much more. Come one come all for a great time that helps benefit a hidden gem among ski areas stay open and start to prosper once again!!!

If you are questioning weather or not we will have more than one lift open, well, do we have a surprise for you. Last Saturday, for those lucky enough to make it up for freshies, you saw for the first time this season all three lifts spinning!!! It has been a trying year at times, but we have kept our heads high and keep forging ahead.

We hope to see you all up there. For any more information, please feel free to pm me or post up. I will answer asap.

    Thanks for looking and Cheers

You've got a great place up there, what a view and killer access.

I skied Arctic Valley a couple of weeks ago for the first time and had a blast.

Jason H., Sarah and Monte are Anchortown friends who volunteer and bring the stoke for good days.

Good Luck with the festival I know it would be fun hanging in the biggest little ski bar in Alaska. (skiing too)

Deathvan, that sucks to hear you won't be able to make it to the event. However, if you should HAPPEN to make it off the island and come over for the day, I PROMISE Monte will buy you a beer, if not his Ram GETS IT!!!

Jed, look forward to seeing you up there on Saturday, it should be a blast had by all!!!

GOODDDDDDMORRRRNNNNINGGGGGG skiers (and snowboarders). Today is the the day, the day of fun, zany and crazy antics, winning (almost) free season passes, good food-smoked turkey legs, brats and salmon burgers along with good spring skiing. Yesterday skied very nice, not too hard not too soft and with the groomer out yesterday made for some fast fun laps while doing "maintenance" work.

Come one come all, bring the kids bring the family, bring the Significant other. The beer will be flowing at noon, the events start at one with the downhill kayak and dummy race starting 5:30 pm.

Hope to see you on the hill.
