COFFEE makes me SCHIZO!
So after working through the denial of it, I've begrudgingly given up drinking coffee after discovering that it was making me a nervous, anxious, depressed, miserable, crabby prick by about 2 in the afternoon.
From what I've read, caffeine is known to exacerbate adrenal fatigue and people who've eliminated it from their day have rebounded in terms of energy and mood. I've found significant improvement in my day without my americano or cup of drip. Kind of a bummer, because I now don't have any reason to go visit the foxy little barista at the starbangers downstairs. Now I'm def on the tea wagon, which I find much more benign.
Not meant to be a blog, curious to know if anyone else has bailed on the coffee program and seen benefits? As a snowboarder... i fucking hate snowboarders in general. -advres

Just drink more coffee in the afternoon.
We heard you in our twilight caves, one hundred fathom deep below, for notes of joy can pierce the waves, that drown each sound of war and woe.

Decaf coffee doesn't taste great, and it kinda sketches me out.

Tried the PM coffee dose, and I'm still a mess. Maybe I'm ok for a day, but it's a vicious cycle and after long enough it catches up with me.As a snowboarder... i fucking hate snowboarders in general. -advres

I have pretty much taken coffee out of my diet. Weird saying that while sipping on an iced coffee but this is the first I have had any in over a month. It took me a couple weeks to get my routine down but I enjoy it much better. I don't get the afternoon crash I used to when drinking coffee. I sleep better at night as well. Now I drink tea from Teavana and I pick the varietals that have very little caffeine. Usually they have between 1% and 15% the amount of caffeine of a single cup of coffee. Not to mention the health benefits of tea.

I don't handle caffeine well at all. I tried to build up to it, drinking half-caf and such, but the more I drank, the worse it got. It even got to the point where a strongly brewed decaf was giving me the jitters. I don't know what the deal is, but I now rarely drink coffee and only decaf when I do. I drink a shitload of decaf tea, though...I get it here.
Most good coffee shops will be able to tell you how their coffee (and tea) is decaffeinated, and the better organic/fair trade brands seem to favor water or CO2 methods.Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

My condolences. I guess just be happy its not whiskey that makes you irritable and edgy.
Decaffing with water is called the Swiss Water Process. Unfortunately it is more expensive than traditional/chemical methods but it is becoming more popular as people want to ingest less chemicals.
I personally love Mighty Leaf tea but I'm a caffeine junky and use their Organic Earl Grey. There are lots of really good loose leaf tea companies out there right now.

You're doing it wrong.
I think it actually has more caffeine, but who the hell cares, you only live once.

Research shows that if you are taking 400mg of caffeine per day which will be equivalent to 4 cups of coffee, then it will be safe for healthy adults. And, on the same time, many people drink more coffee without any issue, but some people experience mental and physical problems when they drink too much coffee over a short period of time, the symptoms may include restlessness, irritability, fast heartbeat and anxiety. If you are facing these problems, probably you are sensitive to caffeine, so it is recommended to avoid or less use caffeine.
