    Yeah, I really want to ski up to Glacier Point, but would prefer to hit it during the week, and that seems problematic for getting a nice surface. Hopefully the stars eventually align.

    going nordic = going ghay?

    As good as it gets back east right now, snow is stiff but not icy, forgiving and fast!

    How are the tracks holding up in the meathow area? Worth visiting next week?

    Cub creek was doing great last weekend. I wouldn't be shocked if the trails out of Winthrop were done by then but they could also be holding on too.

    FYI, the lease runs out for grooming on 4/1 every year. So it really doesn’t matter what the conditions are, the ski season basically ends on March 31. Anyway, there’s always skiing somewhere until then, (even last year).

    Checking in from California, a bit of a winter refresh in Truckee on Fri and Sat before the big melt commences. Sat started with snow still on the trees from a little less than a foot overnight on Donner Summit:

    Plenty of first tracks in the morning (for sure the sun caused probs later in the day!):

    From the previous day, different trail system. Sign says "Return to Lodge", and is nailed pretty high on the tree. Meanwhile, the trail I'm standing on to take the pic is at least 3' above sign height:

    Such a great winter, but after this weekend, I'm guessing it is all melt from here. Most places will close (stop grooming) next weekend, but we're a ways off from getting bikes back on the trails!

    Thanks for the pics from all around in this thread, looks like everyone had some great spring conditions!

    <Edit: I see it's sideways now. I'm not capable to change that...>

    Still going. All of the local nordic resorts have closed but a volunteer group (Nevada Nordic) is still grooming 2km on one of the USFS roads on Mt Rose. Plenty of snow, particularly since it's been snowing the past two days.
