From this afternoon in Tahoe.
Late start means I missed the fast stuff, but the crust was supportive enough when I was out that the tracks were just slower suggestions:
Probably my last bump of the season, looking like tomorrow will be my last day. Plenty of snow left, but no freezing temps in sight for the next several days. Combined with a trip back east, unlikely anything skiable when I get back.
Thanks, all, for sharing and getting me off the couch to return the favor!

Royal Gorge was interesting late morning--soft corn in the sun, icy in the shade. Made me glad I don't have to pine tar and wax to classic ski any more.

Free range skate skiing.
Bit of flat light, but the crust was perfect
Hike down was nice as well

That looks amazingly nice, especially for this late.

These pics are killing me. Nordic season was done first week of March (and only really started late January) in my area. Enjoy it, so jealous!

Talked to a Nordic shop the other day saying hardly any Nordic skis next season. Biggest factory is in Ukraine, most materials come from Russia. Huh..

3 feet of new snow this week certainly helped. Grooming at that spot is ending this weekend (and access is somewhat restricted), but anyone in the Tahoe/Reno area should check out Nevada Nordic - a community organization that's trying to keep grooming in the Mt. Rose area as long as the snow lasts. Trail use is free, it's all supported by donations.

My new Fischer Skate’s are getting ground and hotboxed this week from Caldwell Sport/West Hill. Looking forward to getting a nice full season in this year!

Nice.
I’m thinking of pulling trigger now on some 191 RCS stiffs but trying to justify this when I’ll only use them when occasionally visiting Mammoth and Bend (doubt I’ll drive an hour to the Tahoe skate spots when there’s excellent backcountry skiing 5 mins from my house).
Fischer was using Ukrainian mfg but is that still the case? The supply chain comment about Rossi was interesting.

Also, Fischer owns the factory, so lots of their skis are made there. Historically, Madshus, Alpina, Rossignol, Salomon also used the facility.

Can't wait for the trails to come in at the park nearby. There's a 5.5k loop and they made some new stuff for this year through the middle. My week is so much better if i can get out one day for a lunch lap.
eta: no skin skis yet but I got some for my better half and I am awfully jealous.j'ai des grands instants de lucididididididididi
