I agree that it kind of looks like the SuperBRO (which is good) but unfortunately the SuperBRO does not have a (real) Carbon fiber top sheet.

Yes, but we'll also keep the regular Lhasa tops as well. This is the check 'em out phase and they're looking good enough to run with.

I haven't seen the white graphic overlay version, but the all-carbon topsheets look very cool in person.

That topsheet looks amazing. Could you run it as an option on all the carbon based skis? I realise it'd be ridiculously awkward.

All our skis have full layers of carbon and glass above and below the cores and we will put these tops on every model next year in addition to the colored tops to demonstrate our construction and still give people some topsheet choices as well.

Damn those carbon tops look AWESOME!

Much as I love 'em, black topsheets (Maden AK, wrestler graphic Sumo) can be a drag at near-freezing temps though. The sun melts snow on top during the lift ride, then the slush freezes and attracts a ton of snow during the ride down, doubling or tripling the ski weight. Applying silicone wipe-on base wax (Zordos or something) to the topsheet helps some, don't bother with car wax.

the sun never shines and the temp never rises at Jay so I am not worried about that. I do see your point though.

    Kirkwood, Super Bowl Sunday, 2011

Full on spring conditions on this early February day: sunny blue skies, firm in the morning, softening up as the day progressed. Spent the morning on my telemark gear and was confined to the groomers because: free heeling plus me equals fail. Switched over to alpine gear around noon and that's when the REAL FUN began. So long groomers!

Anything off the groomed was either refrozen crud, icy traverses and moguls, slush and cake in the sunny spots, wind affected on the ridges, or mashed potatoes down low. With the Lhasa's, I was able to ski all of those crappy conditions with confidence and control. Fuckin' amazing! The easterly winds deposited some super sweet chalky snow in Thunder Saddle and in Wagon Wheel Bowl. Hot damn, that was nice.

Prolly 98% of everyone on the mountain stuck to the groomers because of the challenging snow conditions. Once I switched from tele gear to the Lhasas, I was all over the mountain searching for little stashes of 'soft' snow. I encountered a shit ton of firm to icy snow in the process and the Lhasas handled it all with aplomb. Dropping lips onto icy traverses? Shooting the Fingers into mashed potatoes? Done and done. I just fuckin' love these skis. A little game I play now is to search for the shittiest snow on the mountain and see how the skis handle it. So far, the Lhasas pwn it all. F.U.C.K. Y.E.A.H.

    That is all.

    Gary

    PS pray for snow!
