Thread: Lhasa Pow Stoke

Pechelman designed a lot of the lhasa as I recall. He used to be really active on tech talk, actual rocket scientist/surgeon I think.
I remember a discussion on here about it, then the next year(?) the first s7 came out and seemed have a lot of similar conclusions about what a ski could be. Though of course it was toned down and aimed more at accessibility instead of performance.

He did most of the cad work and a bit of design stuff for pm gear back in the day. Certainly splat was the driving force behind everything but P was (still is) highly intelligent and highly motivated and a good resource as a result. He's doing well as of last time we spoke. Still performing rocket surgery on the regular but no longer a front ranger after being head hunted to do space work elsewhere.
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
Cletus: Duly noted.

Well, I don't know how the fuck to link it, but what I get from post #61 in the 'PMGear reviews 186 Brocker and 195 Superbro" thread was that it was indeed designed by Pechelman

Pechelman designed the 186 Lhasa, which as a pintail was kinda earth-shattering at the time. We expanded the design to the 196, then down to the 191, which was adjusted and recast in varying tail widths a few times. Then we dropped down to the 179 Lhasa.

I’ll try to get him all the way out there. He is a pretty good climber. He’s stoked!

Don't they make you feel you could enjoy a cup of coffee and the newspaper while cruising at 45 mph?
Pfluff is correct. 1/2 was the out the door bevel. If you're skiing ice, go to a 1/3 (it'll blow your mind), but stay out of the rocks with it, the rocks chip bigger edge chunks out the more the angle is decreased.
wickstad - glad to see y'all back round here. Damn.

back is a strong word, but nice to see a familiar name, SFB!
I was talking to a coworker about skiing and the lhasa's came up in conversation. Did a web search to show him and then came across this thread; so many nice things said here, thanks! Also awesome to see people still loving these sticks. Wish I still had a pair, then again, I don't remember the last time I skied

I'm going to let my beloved Kusalas go in EU. If anyone is interested name a fair price and they're used. Condition: Well used, very functional, sexy AF. Pics if anyone is interested.

For those of you who have successfully plugged Swiss cheese and remounted Lhasa’s, any particular tips or suggestions? Or proceeded as normal with any ski?
