If I can't convince someone to give up their used 112s, the fine folks at DPS proper are going to have free reign over my credit card. And that's okay.

I'm definitely interested in your review. Just purchased the Concepts but almost went 112.

Just got mine too. I like the misprint on the flier "absolute an obsession" Still the design of the ski is awesome.

i would be very interested to hear how the newest w112 you just got worked in SA and early season coming up, as those have a very flat spot in the tail designed specifically to accommodate skins as well as possible... and all new skis going forward will be designed around this profile.

since the ski edge is a full wrap rather than the molded plastic insert like on a flat tail k2 or dynafit bc ski or the molded cap from a kahru, it is sorta tricky to engineer in a notch short of just grinding a notch into the ski, which certainly plenty of folks do the plenty of twin-tip skis that are made with sandwich construction.

honestly never personally had an issue (unless the sticky side gets iced up, but that is hardly the skis fault), but i always run the g3 skins with the rubber stretched as tight as humanly possible, no idea if that helps or not, or if i am just lucky?

Not sure if they are compatible with other tail connections, I'm sure that those with any type of fab skills can adapt these tail connectors to any skin !

I was out touring the other day up at Baker and two in our group of three had DPS skis and then there were at least another 3 pair out on the hill on other people.
I used to feel "special" having DPS skis but they are becoming so prevalent that I fear they are losing their cache'.
    It's beginning to bother me.

One thing that might help you feel more "special" would be to spell "cachet" correctly.

Anyone ever done a multi-insert mount on these? I want to run Jesters and my AXLs on them but I'm afraid that's a shitload of holes...

haven't done it on 112s but I have inserts for Dukes and Dynafits on my 105s and it seemed to work ok. Considering getting the extra holes in my 112s for this season

edit: a lot depends on your BSL and which bindings you have so YMMV

I was just playing around with skin tail fittings on new (2011/12) Wailer RPs. The newer flatter tail on the skis seems to accommodate the regular (2010/11) G3 Alpinist skin tail attachment perfectly. I also tried the G3 twin-tip tail adapters, but they don't seem to fit, as the hooks line up awkwardly with the corners of the skis. I'll likely grind (using a fine cutting wheel on my Dremmel tool) a subtle (~.5mm) notch into the edge material to locate the skin tails even more securely.
