    Curious how the new SS technology (said to produce more damping) in all Pure versions compares to the Hybrid (said to be damper than the 09-10 Pure without SS). Will there now be as much difference in feel between the 112 Pure SS and 112 Hybrid? (Obviously will differ in weight and assume torsional stiffness, talking here more about dampness, stability on rough hard surfaces).

    All excited and buzzed I went to bed after reading this thread last night and dreamt that I was the local distributor selling them out of my van. It was a disturbed sleep so by half way through the night I knew it wasn't true, but I kept trying to get the dream back anyway. I woke up to 2cm dust on crust and sunshine. Gunna skis corn in trees below freezing level.

    Reading about skis is like watching really captivating porn then going to bed. The dreams just aren't fair.

    the 200cm 120 and 202cm 138 thread show a 15 minimum preorder.
    Not sure if we can get that many, but I know this longer, larger radius ski will sell well in season as long as you aren't afraid of the length (but why should you be with such a short effective edge).
    It will also sell well to folks that demo the 190 and just cant commit to a 18m radius ski, so they will go longer to get less sidecut.

    2) Who else would commit to this ski?

    I am going to pre-order an RP112, for sure, but would rather have more than the 190cm

    25 pair is the minimum. dps sort of lost their shirts on the 200 and 202's deal...

    professor has also tentatively committed to a pair.

    they would have a longer radius, yes.

    the 190 has a 18m radius when skied flat, but skis like a 24m radius when angled and up on edge. (ie you are engaging the rocker into the sidecut and elongating the running length)

    so 18m at low edge angles ie trees, bumps, etc, and 24m at high edge angles, ie high speed carving etc.

    if we did it, there would probably be a nov 15 at the earliest, estimated ship date.

    i know some of the scandi folks would be interested in a 200 also, i can get freeride.se involved as well...

    as they say, money talks an BS walks, so if you want to get on board, 1/2 down.

    You are all more pinner than I'll ever be.

    A 200 in this ski would be cool but I love the idea of versatility. With 190 it'll still charge plenty good enough for 95% of the time yet still be nimble, playful and fun no matter where I am.

    I had the chance to play with these in person and the shape looks to be SOOOOOO money. First time I've picked up a ski and said "woh" in a long time.

    Ive skied it and it does not seem "too turny". IT can be made to crank 18m turns but it easily will arc the 24m turns to. I found it easier to make the big turns. I skied it on bulletproof with about an inch of new. You could hook up and lock in a turn but then release it easily and slide it sideways.

    Pretty damn awesome ski. 190 is plenty for me and I think it would be for a great majority of folks.

    Any chance someone will show up at the Mammoth mini May 20-23 with some DPS to demo since we missed the demo tour cause mmsa was being greedy sons a biyatches?
    Obviously there won't be powder but that sierra corn is the next best thing. C'mon will ya huh?

    More information on 112RP, courtesy of the guys at DPS: It is a true reverse/traditional/reverse, like the S7, not an extended tip and tail with traditional sidecut. It's weights will run approximately like those of the current 120 (Specs at DPS 112RP page are messed up).

    And don't want to provide a half-assed update when DPS can do it right, so will wait for them to post the most interesting change from current protos. You hearing me, out in DPS-land?

    The production version will have a slightly squarer tail for climbing skins. It won't alter the way it skis...just makes it more user-friendly for the backcountry crowd.

    The round tail was the only piece of negative feedback received so far after dozens of skiers tested it in a variety of conditions.

    Pretty sure some maggots tested this ski at Alta last Saturday. Maybe they'll chime in with their reviews.

    Figured I'd throw in my .02 after getting a day on these. 112 Pure 190cm.

    Unfortunately, the day I got to ski the 112 was one of the worst (most variable) snow days I've had in a loooong time. That aside, the day was still a blast as the 112s are just plain rad and there was some good snow to be had in the right spots.

    At the start of the day we found the backside to be anything from pow to windbuff to bulletproof windboard. As one would imagine, these slay windbuff with ease. Smoooove describes it well.

    The most glaring thought that sticks out is the versatility of the 112. Clearly these slay pow, but getting back to the lift is just as fun. Railing high speed slalom turns is as easy as laying them on edge. Making turns of differing radius is a breeze.

    Tree skiing is saweet with the 112. Nimble, jibby, and playful = tons of fun.

    Bottom line, getchoselfapair.

    I'll be anxious to get a pair of the hybrids underfoot as I feel as though the pures are better suited to bc only where one is skiing untouched most of the time. Not that the pures are bad, but I just prefer a damper feeling ski when inbounds and dealing with variable snow from untouched, to cut up, to groom. The pures tend to deflect a bit as they are soooo light.

    I haven't been this stoked on a ski in quite a while. Next year's quiver may consist of a 112 Pure with Dukes and a 112 Hybrid with Jesters. I honestly feel that the versatility of them doesn't warrany a smaller ski for other days.

    Let me know if I missed anything...gotta get back to work.

    Nice... You are getting me stoked for mine to show up next OCT. I do have a question, though. How far back from center is the reco mark? Or do you have any good guess as to how back it appeared? TIA...

    it is approx -8cm

    for referance the lotus 120 is -9, the lotus 138 is (i think) -10, the 4frnt VCT is -7cm, and the EHP is -8 (90% sure).

    did do a bit of testing of the mount point from -7.5->-8.5
    go for rob

    Alot of issues force many closures, yet he skis on (2003-2007)
    $1200-$1400 for china made skis - Have the delam and explosion issues been solved?
    Are skis really delivered? Had my $1000 for over 6 months then tried to charge me paypal fees to get it back.
    Are things are really different or is it hype............

    But back to the thread, alot of rocker for a resort ski. Resort pow yes, groomers, with 150 running length sure.... Comments and demo?
