Starting to make room for these bad boys. I'm not telling my wife, but she will be suspicious when I start ducktaping cardboard boxes together for shipping other skis!

Dude my wife holds the box closed tight while I tape.
That way she's involved but also assured that one pair goes out when another comes in. She really liked the Lhasa graphic, is that bad?
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Just put up a short review of these guys:

    Check it here: http://www.dpsskis.com/blogs/2010/february/dps-jackson

Disclaimer - my internet ski review skills aren't all that great. I know if I like a ski and I know if I don't like it but my skills at articulating exactly what the ski was doing that I liked aren't the best, but hopefully this little bit of info from one run down some very marginal snow will feed the 112 stoke.

I'm still worried about the cut-up performance at high(er) speeds, can someone tell me if it's a just concern or am I overthinking and should put my trust to the greatness of DPS?

how do you ski high speed cut up?

on edge and slicing through, or on the bases, plowing through?

I guess that depends of what ski I am on... On my EHP 193 I most of the time is able to lay an edge or kind of soar over the mix of moguls/cut up soft snow or if I want smash trough it, its a versatile ski in that aspect (or in every one if you ask me, but that's another story).
The real issue I'm worried about, that I don't think that any of the testers have answered, is if the ski deflects or get a hocky feel to it when it comes to skiing cut-up and variable snow, when trying to power trough?
I'm thinking I could just go with the flex 3 version and there won't be a problem, agree?

i do not know if there will be a flex 3 offered in the pure carbon version. that would be a question for dps.

i does sound to me like you would appreciate the hybrid's ride characteristics more than the pure's though.

i have not noticed any deflection or hooky feel on the 112, but i ski differently. i am more on/in the snow, and use every bump to press down on to accelerate... rather than try to skip along the tops.

i have a thread somewhere comparing the 2 constructions... it was done on lotus 120s, but the ride characteristics carry over accross models.

the hybrid construction has a damper heavier ride than the pure in comparision, but compared to the best traditional skis (rossi/4frnt/dynastar) has more pop, life and response, and overall lighter in construction, while still maintaining the ride of a traditional construction ski.

I rode it last weekend. THe things rail for sure!! Didn't get to ski them in much for any chop or pow since I am limited to the groomers until the doc fixes stuff this friday.

They do seem like they will be very sweet!! We were blasting groomers haulin ass and there was never a feeling that the tips were flopping. I told tucker the tips flap less than they do on the 120's.

We were on bulletproof all day and if you were out to carve on the grooms these did a better job than my helixes (my regular everyday ski) which also has a pretty fresh tune.

Great job on the ski really stoked to ride it in some soft snow.

I spent a bit more time on this ski at the DPS Riders Weekend in Jackson. As you might guess the aggressive tip splay and rocker result in killer pow performance, but the real story with this ski is the hard snow performance. This thing absolutely rails.

Obviously I'm a bit biased (DPS affiliation) but this is the most versatile ski I've ever ridden.

and there isn't even a discount for a pre-order on a new model you cant demo and only a handful of folks have ever ridden.

If this is true, someone needs to fix the website which informs about the preorder and states these prices:
    Pricing: Pure: Carbon+Nano: $1,399 Hybrid: Fiberglass+Carbon+Bamboo:$949

the pre-season sale pricing is not yet announced, as it is still prime ski selling season for retailers. gotta support them you know?

the above link is the press-release on the ski and shows retail (you know the sticker price), the price a lot of consumers (ie 95%) gladly pay .
not everyone is on tgr scrounging for deals every minute of the day

if you want to pre-order, contact mike at dps skis, or pm me for more details on the sale. which will be officially announce soon, and at which point all pricing on the website will be updated.

    thanks!

here's the picture that links to the prices in my post above and the pic clearly says: "pre-order the 112 rp for 10/11"

If i read "pre-order", click the link, is taken to a page and is presented with prices, I think those prices apply.
    Stupid me.
