Join the Kneissl Pro Team!
Kneissl North America is looking to affiliate with a limited number of hot skiers (instructors, freeriders, park and pipe skiers) to create buzz on the hill by forming a Kneissl Pro team. We're going to start small with a limited number of sponsorships, but over the next year will create opportunities for you to have your 15 minutes of fame through our development of online promotions, regional events and Kneissl promotional videos.
If you'd like to apply, send us a PM.

The last pair of Kneissl's I had were nailed to the bottom of a "bob sled" in about 1980. They were defective, because they broke when they hit the patrol shack at the bottom of the hill. Think you can replace them?
Seriously, the new skis look great. Davenport was ripping some unbelievable lines with them in Portillo this past summer.

Why no fat skis? Do you have any sweet team only skis kicking around that I could ski?
edit; Doesn't Dav ski for Kastle?

Lighten up guys... One guy I've already talked to is very interested in skiing for us (he's been in a number of movies including Warren Miller) and is excited about skiing on our 2010 / 2011 Rock Star (191 cm, 145-108-129.5).
If our skis aren't wide enough for you, so be it!

I don't see any weights listed on the skis. Light is right when you're climbing ice with the skis on your back, or just about anything else....
For me, the following are important considerations for skiing in the mountains: light weight, a turning radius of about 28-32m, about 100mm under foot, and stiff. So, the "free ride" line up doesn't seem there quite yet.
But, the FIS Race White Star SL in 168 looks nice for local piste skiing....

Jumpturn,
Given that the Rock Star has 2 sheets of Titanal and a full length wood core, it's a pretty burly ski that isn't light by any means, but is very powerful and responsive. It definitely meets your "stiff" criteria, however!
For on piste skiing back East where you are, the Red Star RC and SC or the Black Star SM or MC would probably be a better choice for most skiers due to the stiffness of the ski in the FIS White Star SL (the 2 titanal layers are 0.8 mm thick).

A Warren Miller video, wow.
Hello and welcome to 2010, WM sucks ass.
'round here we like big mountains, steep lines, deep pow, hudge hucks and we sure as fuck dont lighten up. Your skinny skis are of no use to us, please GTFO.
This is how ski manufacturers appeal to mags

No such thing as too stiff (or edges too sharp)! I'm on Volkl racing slalom skis when I'm off 100mm+ under foot.
Around here, resort skis are sharp and stiff for groomers turning to hard pack (err, blue ice), or 105mm underfoot with a short turn radius for skiing tight woods in pow.
The 1 quiver piste skiers are on stiff all mountain skis, perhaps from Volkl or Elan. Then, there are the hoards of tele skiers....

That new Rock Star sounds pretty sick. Good on ya for getting into powder skis.
What do you mean why do I have duct tape on my skis!?! It improves edge hold, increases pop, adds durability, and most importantly, boosts horsepower by like 30%... what? your skis don't have horsepower?

I create a buzz most of the time I'm skiing. How about a demo tour?

You're welcome just giving you a good old fashioned TGR welcome.
The Tankers were pretty rad skis.
Although I dont think WM's suckage is debatable.
Im pretty sure WM knows I'm involved with Powder Monkeys Inc. and I couldn't possibly film with them. Contract issues, you know the game.Hello darkness my old friend

No problem. I actually get a kick out of most of the posts around here. They're good for a chuckle.
Thanks. The current Rock Star is the successor to the Tanker, and the 2010 / 2011 model the first step in creating a more big-mountain powder ski. These guys are from Austria where everyone races, so it will take a while for us to educate them as to what people are really buying over here.
With respect to WM movies, I agree that the movies are no longer the gold standard they used to be, but the skiers in them can still ski...

Oh, now you're blaming the austrians! what about mr. sheikh guy who is building all those super gay Star Lounges and hotel things? I mean really, serious question, what the fuck is a Star Lounge supposed to be and do you really think having Hansi Hinterseer as a VIP guest at the "unveiling" of said Star Lounge is a good idea? is he designing your skis? is your target audience female housewives over 45?
Ich bitte dich nur, weck mich nicht.
