Haitian Cusine...who knew?
Let's talk about food.
Maybe some refugees will bring some good out of this disaster.

Given their colonial (and indiginous) past, and need to use every part of everything, I would imagine that they have some off the hook vittles. Those are usually the hallmarks of great cuisine.

If the Ethiopians make amazing food, and I can attest that in fact they do, then I have no reason to believe that the Haitians don't also make some great grub.

Exactly.
I honestly hope that this disaster, in some way, shape, or form, translates into more Haitian restaurants worldwide.

Three meals stood out when I went to Haiti, all delicious.
1. Roasted goat over rice
2. Fresh conch roasted in bannana leaves on the beach
3. Fresh (as in caught 10 minutes prior) swordfish grilled on the beach with boiled plaintains.
Give me these over McKrap any day.Last edited by St. Jerry; 01-30-2010 at 12:52 PM.

I would expect that their cooking is very similar to if not exactly along the lines of Creole and Creole is some good stuff.
