After living out west, how does it feel to ski the East?
Feels like I just hooked up with a girl that I shouldn't tell anyone about.
I don't see how you east coasters do it."It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds."

What's worse is living in the east, and having to come back and ski in the east (at least south of upper Pennsylvania) after skiing out west. But, you try and make the most of it. It's still all about gettin' out on the hill (almost literally here unfortunately) and having fun.

After a trip West, I always make it a point to hit my home hill within 2 days of arriving home. It makes me appreciate my vacations more.
Skiing in the East is like drinking Bud on a regular basis. It might not be your first choice, you appreciate the good stuff more when you get it, it satisfies a craving and eventually you just kind of get used to it and enjoy it.

There are some great days too you just have to be patient and make sure you get out when they show up because they usually don't stick around.
You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen spliters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker donts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser?

Repeat after me... "at least I'm getting some action", "at least I'm getting some action", "at least I'm getting some action". This works for me everytime (ice coast conditions or beasties)

Ya, it's kind of like kicking yourself in the nuts everyday for making the decision to move east after living in lala land for the better portion of your adult life. Wait a sec... that actually happens quite frequently

Well, after skiing Vail/Beaver Creek 75 days a year for two years, I moved to NYC. That year I got a seasons pass to Hunta' and ended up only skiing about a half dozen times becuase it was so crappy. I was so disillusioned with east coast skiing that I did not ski at all the following year and it took several good powder days at MRG the following year for me to get back into the sport.
Gimme five, I'm still alive!
Ain't no luck, I learned to duck!

If it's green, smoke it...if it's pink, poke it

Not sure where you are but JetBlue was doing round trips to Denver from jfk for $226. I would imagien its similar to SLC.
I've flown back 4 times in the last 6 weeks. That is how I deal with east coast skiing after living in the west.

Short and stupid.
Or is that what people who live in the west say after returning from skiing the Alps or AK.

I get mocked by my ski email notifications every day. In the last 2 hours I went from:
"The rumors are true. Jackson Hole received five feet in five days and it's still snowing! "
to
"Sunday River Snowtalk Newsletter: Snowmaking!"
and
"Boston.com SkiMail: Wild and well-groomed!"

I spent five years in New Hampshire- sandwiched on either side by 8 years in Rossland, BC, where I endure 3 minute drive to the base of Red Mountain. In NH I stored the skis and took up ice climbing, which is very good in those parts, btw.

Skiing on the east coast is a little like skiing in Washington state (lately).
