Miss P: Why are you packing all your ski gear? It's only October. They open around Thanksgiving right?
P: Right.
Miss P: That means I still have 5 weeks of you!
P: Yep. Then you'll see me next April.
Miss P: <slowly undresses and gives a lapdance> Will this change your mind?

According to the Kirkwood website, "We will NOT have rentals, demos, ski school or day care available." Ubersheist, I'm afraid we're going to have to leave you at home.

I just got some new softshell ski pants for $5. Move over Spats, you no longer have the ugliest outfit on the mountain.

Yup, Uber, noticed. Also not the bomb hole in the top one, but no hole in the second release lower. You'll see that kind of thing anytime above treeline following a wind heavy event. Early season is definitely a time to pay close attention to the snowpack here in the Sierra. The snow pack is thin and likely to have large TGs."if the city is visibly one of humankind's greatest achievements, its uncontrolled evolution also can lead to desecration of both nature and the human spirit."
