7 more inches ovenight on top of the 14 earlier in the week ,started off with a warm up run on Dolomite.
Decided then to drive down canyon and try a line I've been eying for a few years now off Mummy's Nose.
Wanted to do the face looker's right beside the cliff band, but wind had raped it of all it's goodies,so i went up top of ridge lookers left,
to ski this face, which was blocked from the wind and pretty damn nice
there are some sick lines in the Mummy's Chin/Forehead Drainage(ie the three center of this pic)
too bad most of them need 20 foot repels at he bottom of them

sleeper day of the season, the quick storm that was only supposed to bring 2-3 inches turned out to be a beast that dropped 14" of the .04% fluff. should break 200 inch season today with the next storm !

High, dry, and crusty in MT. Can't believe you fuckers are skiing bluebird pow in the desert.
Would love to slay some stuff in that little range you got there."The skis just popped me up out of the snow and I went screaming down the hill on a high better than any heroin junkie." She Ra

19" in the last 3 days
this is what we considered tracked out here, oh well at least the two guys 15 minutes in front of me set the track.
so i skinned up to get one of the north facing chutes,
it was well worth it!
view from the bottom
set off a small little slide on a rollover near the bottom of the chute, about 3 inches deep moved 3 feet

attempted Charleston today, we didn't summit due to storm coming in earlier than expected and high winds on top.still a great epic corn harvest. only downpoint was a large rock falling off cliff and flying down chute and missing my leg by 3 inches( but hitting my ski)
Oskar heads up the bootpack, glad i had my crampons, like a dumb ass left my ice ax at home
oskar in the narrows
tempting, but not today
frozen waterfalls are cool
but not as cool as Ice Caves
Oskar enters the crux of the chute
another tempting line
view down

04-19-2010 Griffith Peak
bushwhack
getting past Echo Cliffs
Oskar & Boots
almost to the top
last weeks stormfall never corned up above 10,500 and it was 45 degrees so we had a few of these
(coming down off our top, I set off a 20 foot wide 12" deep wet slide on a ski cut that ran 200 feet on a steep chute ,way sketchy):
r-l Lee Peak, No Name, Devils Thumb,Mt Charleston
skintrack and ancient bristlecone stoke
we decided we go down @ 6pm no matter what so we stopped 200 feet from summit
only a few pics of down
Oskar
more snow coming!!

Perhaps because I'm sitting here in crummy Alabama only looking at people skiing from a long ways I have taken an odd interest in this thread and the SoCal thread. Are you Vegas guys still finding skiable terrain up in the Spring Mountains? I saw that the small area outside Vegas stayed open until May 2nd or so. The SoCal guys are still getting turns in: http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...178133&page=12

I suggest a 2010/11 Nevada thread.
Couples random pics from last season in Northern and central Nevada.
First picture photo credit to Tahoe2stroker.

last post of this thread. A great powder day to ring out an awesome 2010 in the mountains.
2011 is looking just as promising.
VC, would totally be down with a NV thread. need to get out and hit the central ranges above tonopah this year.
