Big difference from then to now. It's all hipsterfied with cool restaurants and bars all around and it's one of those places where people get out of their cars and walk.

I'm sorry that I missed that, I saw lots of pictures and video on FB last night from the show and saw lots of familiar faces (although older). looked like a great time.

Heading down to NoHa for tonight’s show, stoked. I’m hoping for ‘84-‘85.
    Anyone else going tonight?

How is Dark Star Orchestra now that John is gone?

They were excellent last night. Elective set, featuring some cool stuff. Help>Slip>Corrina and the Corrina was sick! That was before drums. They came out of space with another Slipknot into Franklin’s. Highlights included a scorching Minglewood, killer Hey Pocky Way, and the highlight of the night for me was an outstanding version of, I’ll take a melody. They nailed it. First night of tour, band looked good, healthy and happy. Rob was wearing a Bromley Vermont stealie, t-shirt. Lisa’s hair is down to her ass. And Jeff was not nearly as fat as he was when I caught them last. I’m gonna see them again in Concord NH in a couple of weeks. I really like DSO.

I’m sure they will tear it up, crowds in Maine are the best. Love seeing shows in your state.

Worth the drive down I-95. Highlight for me was second set opener Terrapin>Low Spark of High Heeled Boys>St. Stephen. Band had lots of energy and was having fun, as were we all. Really good Eyes jam as well. My first DSO show and I’d go again before going back to see Dead and Co. More better liveliness

Went to the show last night in Concord NH. Smoking hot! Spring ‘78, which I actually prefer to spring ‘77. Opened with Passenger. First set closed with a ripping Jack Straw>Deal. Second set was the business, opened with Miracle, wicked Playing in the Band. Shakedown after drums/space. The Sugar Mag to close the set was insane. The crowd was really good last night. Loud and into it. Love DSO!

That was a nice show... certainly made my basement organizing/ seasonal gear cleaning much more better. Great version of Dylan's "Things have Changed"! Thanks for the link

I saw The Englishtown Project last night. That's Tom Circosta's new gig, he was the other frontman next to Jeff in the Volunteers and Zen Tricksters. They fkn killed it! In a similar kind of way that DSO brings a different take on the tunes these guys do too and if you want the pace to be quicker than Dead and Co these guys really bring that to the show.

TargheeFest just announced DSO for the opening Friday night. Stoked, that will be fun! Two years ago JRAD had that spot, and I thought it was the best of the festival...but I am biased. Can’t wait to see who else is in the lineup.

Dark Star Orchestra Livestream Marathon from The Capitol Theatre on FANS.COM, powered by LD Systems

On Friday, April 10, tune in at 9:00AM, 12:30PM, 4:00PM and 8:30PM ET to experience Dark Star Orchestra capture the music, feel, and intensity that was the Grateful Dead. All shows were filmed live at Port Chester’s legendary rock palace, The Capitol Theatre, where the Dead played 18 shows from 1970-1971.

Between each set, stick around for exclusive LIVE Q&As with the band and Video Director Jonathan Healey.

Get your crew and get on the guest list. We’ll see you in the stream on FANS for a jam-packed experience that’s as close to the real thing as it gets.

Been listening/ watching all day... that last show with the horn was nice. I loved shows with Branford in the 90's... added another layer and spark and push to the band which was nice (and sometimes needed).
