a couple of vids of my 3 year old

took owen out yesterday and he had kind of a breakthrough, he could ski well enough on perfectly groomed stuff but yesterday he became relativity comfy on less than ideal surfaces.

at the end of the day he turns to me and says' "daddy, my wants to be a good a skier as you. ok?" melted my heart.

at a tiny place in Utah called Wolf Creek, they have a $17 military discount ticket, perfect for taking the squirt skiing.

Great video cant wait to get my 2 1/2 year old out this year. She made me proud on christmas when she bipassed the toy kitchen and picked up her skis first. AKA any advice to those of us taking our kids up for the first time. Took her once last year more of a I wanted her on snow before she was two but she has talked about skiing ever since.
If ski companies didn't make new skis every year I wouldn't have to get new skis every year.

I really have no advice other than patience and bribes, I use kit-kats and the promise of more kit-kats as motivation. After a few runs he doesn't need any motivation besides skiing itself.

He is damn good for his age. I have never seen a 3 year old ski, yet alone go off perfectly groomed snow. Awsome kid.

That is rad. The jumping is just hilarious (but really impressive too.....without any tails).

So, how old exactly? When did he turn 3.

I am working with my 2 year old right now (2 and 4 months). He has strap on skis and downhill. We go between the legs on downhill and he likes (only walking up so far, no lifts yet)......and as of last weekend in Winter Park he can walk on snow in the strap on skis. I am stoked....but curious how to get to that level. Owen really is killing it.

owen truned 3 in june, though, he was skiing with very little asistance by last january. I bribe him with candy and very early on we both started chanting "turn, turn, turn, turn, turn" in a cadence and he started turning while saying it. I have a feeling that he might have a rough couple of days the next few times we go since I broke the skis he's on in the videos and they're being replaced by much newer and what look like much faster skis.

Such low goals. Hopefully he'll set the bar higher in the future.

Thanks for the tips.....good to hear he could actually ski a bit solo at 2.5 yrs. So far so good on my little guy. Did a "big" 70 yard downhill at XC place last weekend with him and got: "daddy, go up big hill again, and go back down hill".
