    Thumbs up Illmatic

    is the shit.

Havent listened to it in ages and recently fell back in love with it.
It was one of the first rap/hip hop albums my virgin ears were invaded with when I started listening to the genre(s).
That being said, I put it in the backseat and later Nas wasnt really to my liking(maybe I didnt give it that much of a chance).
Id say it was what carried Nas through everything.

    Fuckin solid.

I threw it on last week and have been on a binge since.

    Some of my favs:

    Star Wars

    On the Real

Daver, your right. The two I listed are only on the "10th Anniversary Platinum Edition".

If I had stayed true to the original I would/should have put up One Time 4 Your Mind and Represent.

Yeah , neither of those songs were on the blank tape that I recorded the CD onto when it first came out. I had that tape, complete with hiss, until maybe two years ago. I seriously wore that tape out until it wouldn't play anymore! Now that I now longer have a cassette deck, it might be time to step up to modern times and get a digi copy. Too bad Nas kinda peaked at the beginning - his debut with Main Source was fire. Not like he fell off, but that album was a lot to live up to.

    Illmatic

This may be mentioned elsewhere, but just watched this. Pretty freaking cool, especially for a pbs show

Edit- I know I bumped an almost ten year old thread about this 25 year old cassette. It was that good. Memories...

    This was completely amazing ^^

So, re: peaking early... the hard part for me is I listened to the first two albums, ad nauseum... knew them very well, then I didn't have time for that.. so, I know I don't know the rest of the library as well... I know he had some dope verses after that though.
