That’s probably why there aren’t many tequila festivals.

PS: Pendleton is a glutton for punishment. This weekend they host Biker Week (with the Marshall Tucker Band!). Of course none of this compares to the wild party that is The Round-Up. Talk about the wild west! This wild rodeo has been going since 1910.

It all sounds a little rowdy to me. Think I’ll just quietly sip my Four Roses Single Barrel, then get Übered to dinner. No need to alert security.

For $12, I'd sip that Blanton's all day long

Pappy's at the highest prices? I personally was not overly impressed with anything Pappy's. Good, but not at all what i expected from the buildup.

I have a very good Whiskey guy at our local Liquor Store. He recommended Old Bardstown Estate Bottled (A product of the Willett distillery - $28 on sale) as a hidden gem. First impression is very positive.

A buddy and I stood in line Friday for a wristband to get some tougher to get stuff here in Idaho. Our picks were in the 30s and 70s (flirted with the wrist band girl to get a second band). We missed out on the Birthday, Taylor Amareth, and Weller Barrel Proof. Did take home Elijah Craig 18, Parker Heritage Single Barrel, Taylor-Barrel Proof, Single Barrel, and Small Batch, Weller 107, Pot Still, Elmer T Lee, and Stagg Jr. There were some though decisions but we played our strategy. Skipped Pact 5, Masters Keep, and a couple others.

Idaho Liquor Commission bought three barrels of Elijah Craig and did a limited release of 9, 10, and 12 year. We each bought three cases of the 12 after doing a Pepsi challenge against our personal stashes. The only bottle it didn’t beat was Pappy 23.

Visited my Grandpa today and went to a small town store and found some 1792 Single Barrel, Rittenhouse Rye, Sazerac Rye, Uncle Nearest, and a couple bottles of Blantons.

It was an expensive weekend but at Idaho governed prices, we did really well and will be in high cotton for the foreseeable future. Shout if you’re in the southwest corner of the state and we’ll tip a couple glasses.

It’s the season for new releases. I tried this at my fave whiskey bar tonight. Quite simply, it was excellent. Worth looking for, Weller Full Proof.

Weller Special Reserve $28 and Antique 107 $48/bottle here if you can find. Barrel Proof is a ghost at retail.

I haven't been able to find any Weller bottles around here. I have a family member that travels for work and she found a liquor store where she is currently working that reserved her a bottle of Weller Antique 107 otherwise it's no use looking on the shelf as they never make it that far.

A nice line up of hard-to-find expressions at the Golden Promise in Paris. I like this town.

Just lucked out at a small town liquor store. A couple bottles of Henry McKenna 10, a couple of Weller 107, one of Weller SR, and Stagg Jr is opening up around town again so that appears to be readily available.

OK so my parents are RVing in Tenn the next 14 days. Looking for reccos of good whiskey to grab in the Memphis - Nashville drive (and surrounding areas).

Whats great that I won't typically find in the northeast?

    Thanks.

Maybe we need to start listing bars with good lists. In downtown Boise, The Whiskey Bar, Tavern in Owyhee, and North End Pizza have good variety lists.

Given the scarcity of some hooch, I’ve been hoarding as I see things pop up on shelves. Can't get the pic vertical but if you heathens are in town, hit me up for sip.
