8 months post acl repair- medial knee pain
I blew my knee out last feb. and had reconstruction with autograft in April.
Rehab since then, and was getting consistently better. Lateral pain is gone, peronial nerve pain is now gone.. there are so many stages to the pain as you rehab. this injury!
Now I am suddenly having medial knee pain that is sharp, intense, and kicks in only with weight bearing activities such as hiking- but now even walking for a while. it follows the angle of my medial knee- then right down the tibia to the scar.
Is this another " normal stage of the recovery" or something else?

same here. you probably have muscle imbalance which cause your patella to track incorrectly. basically quad is usually stronger then vmo and slightly pulls your knee cap to the side when you squat, jump, go down stairs, etc
work on eccentric based exercises and tape your patella for a while to limit the pain

Sound patellofemoral. Did you have any medial meniscus or chondral surface damage?
