Piano Piece
Hey everyone... This is BDL's son, I just wanted to post up a new video I made of me playing Chopin's First Ballade. I doubt that many of you listen to classical music, but anyone that is interested should check it out. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbcdkHROuao"]YouTube- Chopin Ballade In G Minor Op.23[/ame]

Thanks everyone! I have been playing for about four years, but I do performance stuff like this on the side. I plan (hope) to make a career in composition

nice job; that's not an easy piece. You have great technique too
Now that you've got it learned maybe apply a larger dynamic range. I always found that was an easier thing to notice as a listner than as the player, but then I've never been a great player.
Thanks for sharing with us. Chopin is one of my favorites
edit: that's qesome for 4 years work. do you play other instruments? what's ou're musical background?::.:..::::.::.:.::..::.

Yeah, after listening to it, I noticed that the dynamics didn't really vary at all. TBH, I think this is more the recording quality than the performance, because my teacher said that that was one of the things that I was doing best; I'm not sure though. I used to play tenor sax and the electric guitar, but I haven't really picked either up recently. No one in my family plays an instrument, So I'm not sure. We had to move to WV a couple of years ago for my mom's job (moving to WV for a job seems oxymoronic, but whatever), so there is no real chance of getting a composition teacher. Due to this, I fly to NYC twice a month to meet with the composer in residence of the Mannes Conservatory, which is a pain in the ass but definitely worth it.

West Virginia?!? Shit boy, you need to learn to play the banjo. In WV, you're either the banjo player or you're the hog getting rear ended.
Squeal fur me. SQUEAAAAAAAL!Of all the muthafuckas on earth, you the muthafuckest.

The dynamics thing might just be an over-compression thing in the recording.
I enjoyed it.
