Is that 'the thing' now?
Wearing your little painter's cap under a road helmet so you get a visor?Besides the comet that killed the dinosaurs nothing has destroyed a species faster than entitled white people.-ajp

WTF are all those people standing around on the side? Is it normally like that? If so, that's a junk show of epic proportions.

One other element that they don't mention in that clip is the lack of traction due to the sandstone dust that accumulates in there. Makes those few turn moves at the bottom all that much more challenging...

For the record: That was some sort of Trek product showcase/demo/multi-day event thingy....normal busy weekends aren't necessarily that bad.
Actually yes, yes they are. It is always a complete shitshow, 24/7/365....trails clogged up with Front Range, Lycra sporting, cap under the helmet, carb counting weenies....nobody is having any fun, ever, just showing up to be part of the scene. Sometimes I can't hear myself think because of all the beeping HR moniters.

that's true -- but maybe it's not relevant to whether it's any fun to "ride" with a group whose sole purpose in "riding" is to stand around while one or two people "session" a trail feature that most of us can ride in our sleep.

I just like that the new Trek uses "full floater" technology "in the rear".

For what its worth...
1) Ross is a SICK rider. Him "flubbing" it and being hesitant should tell you something...
2) It's harder than it looks.* (as always)
*That's what he said

To quote our great leader, being singlespeed 'world champion' is sort of like winning the 'special olympics'.

How about winning Downieville? Does that count for something?

Well, at least he didn't walk down it like the horde of the spandex clad douches at the end of the video. Thats saying something right there.

Lots of hate going on for the gapers. Nevermind that they might be done with the loop and are heading back up the drop-in shelf, since the loop is a lollipop, and are just staying out of the way so that the people on top can ride down.

His "race resume" doesn't really even begin to tell the story of how good that dude is.
He can hold Nico's pace in an enduro DH and still turn around and win the SSWC. He's a modern day Johnny T. (yeah, I said it...)
There are VERY few (if any) riders that are as well rounded as Ross. And he's a good guy to too!!!
