Definitely, but that's not likely to happen again, knock on wood.
You have to expect, having seen this year upon year, that temps will go up and all of this snow will get slushed on, but either way it's great for base building. Mountain should open early as usual.

In two days, that POS W/B snowpack chewed up an otherwise fine pair of bases...then cost me an ACL...punched through to bushes, hung a ski, and that was that. Happy New Year.

So where's your vote to access early turns?
-Drive up service roads beyond Kadenwood for Peak to Creek access?
-Black Tusk would be sweet as the terrain is smooth but that new gate is a lot burlier and pretty much locked now.
-Brandywine is high access, but that creek in the meadow probably won't be frozen.
-Brew Mountain ski trail probably won't have enough snow lower, although I hear it dumps 50% more than Whistler.
-Tricouni area (Chance creek side) might be a good bet, smooth meadows, high access

I am considering hiking Black Tusk for some turns next week. Was up there on October 3rd and could have used my skis then. Don't really want to hike up in the rain, so I am hoping for a clearing of some sort. 4-5 hours up is worth it I think.

Tricouni is pretty rocky. Even Black Tusk is rocky.

Elfin is the go-to because of the heather covered meadows

Some of the runs on Blackcomb near Catskinner have been de-stumped so that's always a possibility

For this time of year, "yuk" is good. Cold rain and snow is much better than blower pow for a base. Oozes into all those nooks and crannies for a real solid base.
