Half a Pair Thread: it's back
I started this on powdermag but can't find one here. Purpose: to unite all your single pieces of ski gear whose mates have been lost or broken. Mention if you want another one or want to get rid of the one you have.
EDIT: Here's how this works! Read before posting!
1) Go to the last page in the thread. Find the last post which has a long list of gear (should be the last post in the thread if people are doing their job).
2) If you're looking for a single, read through the first part of the list ("Have ski, don't want it") and see if anyone has one. Then look through the second part ("Looking for mate for my lonely ski") because someone might want to buy it off you, and then you can buy another pair.
If you find a match, PM the person and try to make a deal. If you can't find anything, reply to the post (which should quote it) and add whatever you're looking for to the bottom of the second part of the list ("Looking for a mate").
3) If you're looking to get rid of a single, read both halves of the list to see if you can make a deal with someone.
If you find a match, PM the person and try to make a deal. If you can't find anything, reply to the post (which should quote it) and add whatever you're looking for to the bottom of the top part of the list ("Have ski, don't want it").
DO NOT just add a post to the end saying "I crashed and need one <whatever>." Follow these directions, and we'll all have a much greater chance of matching up our lonely gear!
4) Check back every few months, because the list is getting long. Someone might have added their ski to the list and not seen yours...or you might decide you're OK with a different year of the same ski.
5) Let everyone know when you find a match...it's good stoke to know that the system works. Plus, you should remove your ski from the list and repost it, as per the directions above.
Good luck!Last edited by Spats; 01-13-2011 at 08:59 PM.

I actually saw an auction on ebay for some slalom skis with some Markers that were DIN 15-30. I guess that's the only way to keep them from coming off, though the toepiece might still break.

The shop I used to work at donated all our single skis to the National Sports Center for the Disabled. Its an absolutely terriffic cause. Here's the info. NSCD If I get a second, I'll call them to see what the deal is.
