Norwegian Maggots
So I am leaving end of this week to head to Oslo for a week. I have just been made a godfather to a little viking and I am going over for the baptism. I have been to Oslo many times in my life. I have done the usual attractions multiple times. The Fram, Kontiki, Commercial shipping shipping museum, Akershus, statue park, Viking ships museum.
So now I am looking to the locals. Anything going on in town this next week, from the 5th through the 13th. The only thing I found was that "Ah ha" is playing. That I might pass on. Any good events? Have they started construction on the Holmenkollen Ski Jump? Anything worth seeing there? Local music? Good new places to eat? I have not been to Oslo since 2007.
Oh and how is the weather. I am hearing snow at night and rain during the day. Just about freezing.
Do we have any Oslo Maggots?

So when you come back are you gonna use the "Ø" all the time?
Lutefisk and Akvavit, buddeh. Something weird about you being in charge of another human's Spiritual Education.
Have fun.

Raises hand.
Check out http://underskog.no/kalender/liste?city=1 for a calendar of cultural stuff (all in norwegian, but you should recognize any international acts).
Weather: rain with some wind and temps slightly above freezing (at least downtown). A hardshell jacket would be good. http://www.yr.no/place/Norway/Oslo/Oslo/Oslo/long.html
I guess you won't bring ski gear? I plan to do some touring this weekend.

There is definatley snow in Norway, I had good turns last week. There are a bunch of good museums in Oslo to: the Fram Museum (Amundsen's boat he took to the south pole), the Munch Museum and the Folk Museum are all pretty cool.

Not quite as far. About 3 hours by car. But whats open yet is very limited, and if the picture makes you think you can ski lots of pow there, you're probably wrong...
The new opera House was opened in 2008, if you're into architecture: [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oslo_Opera_House[/ame]
The new Holmenkollen is definately under construction, but I'm not sure how interesting it is. As it's a construction site you won't be able to go everywhere. There's a webcam here: http://web.tu.no/webcam/
Monday and tuesday we had rain in the daytime, today it was snow and tonight it's actually settling on the ground as well
