    No, but it did have to do with illegally running beer across state lines. I'm assuming hashish smuggling is the "Smokey and the Bandit kinda thing" he was referring to. Seemed weed related to me.

    ^^^I remember stories of the Butt Pirate Hash once crossing the Mexican border and back a long time ago (circa 1993 or 1994) when it could still be done. Doubt they smuggled anything, though.

    They're one of the few San Diego area Hashes that I never ran with, BTW.

    I generally don't run unless I am being chased, but I have entered a few of these events. One was a 5K and for every documented beer you drink prior to the start time, you are allowed to deduct something like 15 or 30 seconds from your overall time.

    My strategy was to drink so many beers that I could basically crawl to the finish and have the lowest time. Bad move. I napped in some guy's garden about 2k into the event.

    Just thought I'd give this thread a boost... and a hearty thank you to OP and it's contributors for turning me on to the Hash House Harriers!!! I've been hashing with the local kennel for less than a year, but have all sorts of crazy stupid fun every god damn Hash. Found no better way to have the crazies self sort themselves out of the boring main stream populace making it easy to meet the most fun people. Kind of like TGR folk in the non e-world... but lots more women.

    The Full Moon Lingerie Hash was yesterday... but here's a shot of me from the Red Dress Run from a month or so ago... should give a little hint at the hijinx;

    To encourage all abilities to check it out, know that it is very bad form in Hashing to "r" - "ace"... it's probably the only 4 letter word in the sport actually!!! I've effed up my "good" knee, so been walking the 4 to 5 mile trails the last few months. Maybe not as much fun as being up front of the pack and doing the business of following the chalk and flour clues with lots of false leads to find true trail, but honestly the run part is secondary to the fun. Expect lots of drinking, rude rugby songs, more drinking, fun, drinking, being called out on some "hash crime" and having to do a "down down" (beer chug), stupidity and even partial nudity on occassion. The ratio has been quite close to 50/50 guys/girls at each of the 3 kennels I've hashed with here in the Midwest... some kennels have more walkers and more beer stops (Beer Town), others seem to have more runners and often only a lame single beer stop before the big drinking starts at the On In (Yes, I'm looking at you Windy City Hashers!!! )

    There are more than 1,930 kennels on all 7 continents, so you are likely to find at least one nearby... some basics on Hashings history and some other details here; [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hash_House_Harriers[/ame] And to find the local Hash group, try here; http://gotothehash.net/

    I was never into running, but tried hashing (Ashland H3). It's much more about the social aspects of a bunch of professionals who get together a couple times a month to be perverted, lewd, and crude with each other. Some people walk, others were 100 mile trail runners and the hash was their "day off" from training. Lots of beer and some funny ceremonious activities follow each run. Try it out, it's pretty entertaining.

    This did happen to us, as I was hashing during the anthrax scare. Cops went apeshit over white powder.
    Same with us in Japan...Cops werent happy so we switched to colored Chalk and it wasnt a big deal really though prolly more of a pain in the arse for the rabbits.

    Hashing is fun, usually a chilled group of people who like to have a fun time and get drunk after. Try it if you havent.

    hmm, never heard of it, or tried it.

    We do that the "Tour de Franzia" though, where you have however many host houses, that all have a box of franzia. Then you get a group of people together, bike to the first house, pass the bag around till it's gone, then bike to the next house. Repeat. Try to make the houses on opposite sides of town.

    Real fun. especially when you can get everyone to dress up in their full road bike kits. or similarly ridiculous attire.

    Sitting in my basement Rec Rm home theater cranking ski porn (tangerine dream) while my kennel is outside around the firepit picking my hash name. No one asked my favorite sport... BOO!

    Crossing my fingers it's not to geigh (nttiawwt) or vulgar... I "requested" it have monkey or primate in it. But that almost assures it won't. They can be brutal, but I'm a nice guy, they won't be too vicious will they? :bites fingernails:

    OK... it's done.

    Fitting squarely in the "be careful what you wish for category"... they did consider my request to have a monkey or primate reference in the name. And befitting the usual good humor of Hashers, though unfortunately at my expense, did a great job naming me.

    Can you think of a famous chimp that you'd NEVER want to be named after?

    Yes, I am now "Bubbles"!!! :groan:

    Second place finish, and by only 1 vote, was King Dong.

    Here is most of the motley crew that hit the trail last night, which included tracks and shiggy (pic taken across firepit and a bit whacked);

    I was properly anointed with trail flour/masa and baptized with beer... I know, alcohol abuse.

    Ended up spending the night at the young Honey below on left's apartment (look into my eyes when you stare at my tits)... and even got a few hours in her bed this morning... unfortunately there were others there too and she might be out of my league? Though she just broke up with her boyfriend, and was happy to have me know that... figure I'll find a way to find out as I might as well go down in flames than always wonder. I fucking love Hashing!

    No. I'll occasionally venture onto Beercheck to see what the local kooks are up to, but that's it.

    you could have had a lot worse than Bubbles. At least it's a name you can say in public.

    True... and 20 hours later I'm still getting use to it... but wondering if maybe it's just not vulgar enough??? The hottie (Her Hash Name:Way Too Much Jism) texted me one good point about the name today... I can now approach the the chicas and ask if they'd like to blow bubbles. So there's that going for it?
