Posting here even though this is Tech Talkish. Anyone know anything about tunes on little guy skis? Got a new pair of 110cm Rossis for my 7 1/2 yo. They are a step up from the 95cm he was on last year , but sized right at right under his chin. We were only able to get out one day b/c of COVID but he was having a tough time catching edges everywhere, especially on the inside edge. Looking at the edges, they are really sharp with a pretty solid hanging burr on the base side. I used a stone to detune a bit and take down the burr, but for an advanced beginner , anything more that should be done here? More detuning? More bevel?

I err on the side of dull with my kid up in the tips. Less likely to catch and edge. Sharp under foot. Moderate inbetween. When I sharpen the edges I’m focusing on the middle third of the ski.

You can always te sharpen if you taken it down too much.

Makes sense. These are sharper than my brand new Praxis's were, and those could cut through iron

Elan kids skis—-135 with demo bindings. Skied just a couple of times by my daughter. They’re basically new. Paid $200 for them this fall. Make a reasonable offer

Rossi Comp jr 21.5 has worn soles.

Nordica 19 two buckle missing one lower wire.

    Other rear entry bliss.

I think I may have some small base layers as well.

nope, I did acquire one not long ago for resale, but it's gone.

Obv you're looking because you already have the Chariot, but if you only have one kid consider also looking for a "Kindershuttle", similar idea but a dedicated touring sled for the kiddo. The Chariot has less resistance so if skiing only groomed it is better, but the Kinder is more stable and is better if skiing forest roads or mellow trails that aren't groomed. It's not any cheaper, in fact it is probably more expensive, but it's an alternate option. Years ago, we bought the whole Chariot kit, but ended up returning the ski attachment because we found and preferred the kindershuttle. We still have it, because while our kid has outgrown it, the thing is still useful for hut trips.

Totally get that, it is where we were too, originally. But honestly, winter is so different from warmer weather activities that you don't really need to stay in one system. I mean it does make sense to have one system for jogging and biking and strolling, because you'll be bouncing back and forth between them sometimes on the same outing. But other than having storage space for the kindershuttle in addition to the Chariot, there's really no utility gained by keeping in the same system. At least that's what we ultimately decided. Just food for thought, may not even be helpful because I'm guessing the kinder is as hard or harder to find than the ski attachment!

right there with you. I have 2 trash bags full of kids boots...I wonder what the wife will do with them while I away at work.......I have 3 pair of 110cm(not my overlap 110ish waisted skis) skis too, the 7 year old prefers the mantras over his gs carvers apparently all the kids have skis that are too short according to wifeepoo.
