Hoping to get my son out for the first time this winter. Hes almost 4, so I guess we're looking for a set of skis around the 80cm range.
Let me know what you got! I'm around Blaine, WA.

    Greatly appreciated!

PM shredGenius. He just unloaded his shop’s kids rental stock. I bought three pair and they all had ^^^ these bindings. He might have extras.

FS: 90cm Fischer. Bought used last season, didn’t work out for my then 3 year old daughter - too long. $50 shipped. (Full disclosure: I️ swiped the photo from earlier in this thread. Mine look the same just longer.)

Help! I Can't find the boot center line on the gotama jr's. They are used. Is it somewhere near the serial #s on the sidewalk?

Volkl usually etches an "I" (capital i) on the sidewall. At least on the Shiro Jrs and older Gotama Jrs I've mounted.

Anyone holding on to a pair of 116-124cm hard snow ski? With or w/o binding. Got a quiver gap for sure.

^^^thanks. I've got a 130 atomic carver. And 110 Hot Rods. Just trying to fill that gap. Actually measuring my son, probably don't want anything over 120cm for now.

Oddly enough, when I gave up on a bigger pow ski, I found a 128 Mantra for sale four blocks from my house. Fuck yeah. Still, I think he will take half a season to grow into these. They are helmet Mohawk high.

    L9 K2 are like $60 flat. They have Defiance 80cm ski w binding for $90 I think.

I was looking at these Defiance Flash Jr. The 120cm length works for my son's quiver. Some questions for the parents.

    1) Does anyone have experience with the Defiance skis? Not worried about durability as much as performance. The Flash is wood core cap construction with early rise tip and tail.

    2) This is to be my son's hard snow ski. He is coming off a 110cm Nordica Hot Rod. Yes, I know it is not a double metal laminate, but it is still a pretty stiff ski in the 110cm range. And fully cambered. The Defiance has a 8.6m radius (a touch straighter than the hot rod), early rise tip and tail. Will this hinder my son's carving development. Should I be looking for a similiar classic construction? Both are the same (66/67) underfoot.

Get second hand race skis. They will perform much much better and could usually be had for cheap in that length. Typically $50 at our local ski swap with bindings. Just only have enough edge for hand sharpening, no more stone grind.

^^^^That is what I wanted, but have not found. I live in Santa Cruz, so a ways from a ski town. Not many swaps around here with any sort of quality. Like 2nd hand Rossi Roc rentals from a decade ago. Still, I'll check when the local swaps are around here and maybe check in.

Many good deals on used gear at Tahoe Sports Hub and The Backcountry.

    ^^^^I'll look there as well

shipping alone on those is $52. Sexy ski, but a bit more $$$ than I have to spend right now. Maybe I'll make them an offer and see what happens.

Are these solid skis? Head XRC 50. 117cm seems perfect for him with a full camber. So that is a plus.

Nothing fancy and a few (10?) years old but they'll work (as long as the bindings are functional). Local shop used to use those for season rentals.

Anyone looking for a ski harness? Need to find a new home for a wee ski.

    Front range pickup preferred.

My daughter has 80cm Defiance with probably 20 days on them and for the price they’ve been a great buy. Good ability to get them on edge. Always fun to see a 4 yo arcing turns.
