Math for TGR challenged
So my wife is a math teacher... and she gave the following assignment:
1. Have you ever been snowboarding?
2. A typical snowboard costs $220. Plus one needs binding which are $120. Then one needs boots which are $150
What is the total cost in gear for snowboarding?
3. The sales tax is 6%, how much money does the state get thanks to you buying snowboarding gear?
4. A typical day of snowboarding costs $80 for a lift ticket. Plus food, and lodging how much do you think it costs to have a snowboarding weekend for Saturday-Monday? Factor in gas to your destination.
5. You have been saving up all spring and summer for the winter snowboarding season, you have a total of $4,000. You need to buy all new gear and have to pay for everything (lift tickets, food, gas), how many days can you go snowboarding?
6. People are happy when they have about 60 days of snowboarding. What percent above or below are you to this number?

math is for douchebags & gapers.

Finally.. someone realizes she's teaching some basic math.
AND... if you make your own beer you can save even more money.

If I banged your wife 3 x per day, and charged her $4.00 per inch, per session, and the government taxed me 6% on that.....

LOL.
I'm glad the general consensus is..........
It's gonna take someone really dumb and pathetic in dire need of an ego boost to apply their basic math skills only for the sake of impressing us all.........
Last time I had this much fun, I was calculating my credit card expenditures....

Tramdock (or in this case Brociety)
Go local, less gas, no lodging
Seasons pass=more days for the money
Buy quality shit so it will last longer than one season
Lots of duct tape
Watch for airfare specials
I could bag a pretty damn good season on $4 grand, could do as many days locally as possible and probably at least 5 days at a major resort in the Rockies/Sierras/Tetons
(yes I know this is a math, not frugality exercise, just sayin)

it's a trick question.
incomplete information is given to complete the problem. how many days do the lifts run?; is hiking allowed (hiking and riding down or hiking to an upper lift and riding 'free' all day); how many days, on average, is there enough snow to ride?
i read a book somewhere that the answer is 42

BUt, what if you already have the gear?
Try to keep two ideas in your head at the same time without blowing your brains out your ass.
