Now accepting orders for DynaDukeS binding swap plates

DynaDukeS are available and in-stock at Binding Freedom web store

    www.BindingFreedom.com

There are only 10 pairs left and these are being phased out (as of 9/2/2013). Blowout pricing, which is lower than I've ever sold them for. They are still a fantastic product, just not so great with the latest version of dukes that have an extended climbing bar. If you still have an older pair of dukes, these will treat you well.

    Attachment 66340Attachment 67483

*Binding swap system for Duke and Dynafit bindings
*Swap Duke/Baron and/or Dynafit bindings between multiple skis (requires one set of DynaDukeS per ski)
*Fits Large or Small Dukes and Dynafit bindings (comfort and vertical models)
*Dynafit mount fits all BSL that can fit in Duke range of adjustment
*2oz per ski, 7mm additional rise (1/4"), 6061-T6 Anodized Billet Aluminum
*Wide mounting pattern, no interference with previous mounts (Duke/9XX/PXX/Dynafit)
    *Manufactured in Boise, ID
*Includes ski mounting screws, M5 binding replacement screws, allen wrench, 5ml tube of loctite, and paper mounting template

I am an independent mechanical engineer, who loves skiing, and saw a need for this product. If you want this product, buy it from me, and be prepared to take responsibility for using it safely. If you don't like the price, or are the kind of person who will be upset at me if you break something because you did something stupid, then don't buy this. I'm just a guy making these plates for people who want them - I can't afford to be sued if you break your leg "being extreme". I will be making very little money off this, and that will not even cover the time I spent perfecting these plates. If something is wrong with your product, I will do everything I can to make it right.

    some more discussion here

Duke and Dynafit Install videos are now up on youtube:

Mounting the plates to the ski tutorials:

NOTE: Your plates will come with preprinted paper template, so you won't need to print it out and check the print scaling.

Here's some pics from my first testing of the production plates.
    Attachment 66331
I mounted a pair of plates to my test board, which is some fiberboard cut to 110mm wide, and marked with a centerline and BSL line. Now to attach the DUKE bindings. Starting with the heel plate:
    Attachment 66332
Then with the binding in tour mode, attach the front two screws on the toepiece:
    Attachment 66333
flipping over to ski mode temporarily allows me to put in the last three screws.
    Attachment 66334
And the boot center lines up perfectly (picture taken from a slight angle, so its hard to tell)
    Attachment 66335
Now on to the dynafit bindings. First, you should know that using M5 screws instead of the ski screws will require you to drill out the toepiece riser plastic slightly. Don't worry, there's plenty of plastic and you don't need to enlarge the holes much at all.

mounting the toepiece to the plates

another important consideration on the heelpiece: if you will be running dynafits with brakes, you will need to adjust the heel to center the post so that all 4 screws can be accessed. In the furthest forward and backward locations, the brake assembly blocks the mounting holes - look at your dynafits and you'll see what I mean. This will add a few minutes to the swapping time, but is pretty easy to do
    Attachment 66338
And the BSL lines up perfect again

    Two pairs please.

I can pick up, but probably won't be skiing until January, so it's not a priority. You planning on a limited run, or would I, say, be able to buy another pair a year from now?

My offer to help ship them out or with anything else still stands.

    Stoked that this is going.

Do you have a price for shipping to yurp? I´d like two pair, but overseas shipping + tax might kill the deal for my part. I´ll check around with some friends to hear if more people are interested in order to get the shipping price pr pair down.

(Totally understand if overseas shipping proves to much of an annoyance though.)

    Awsome product idea and execution!

One pair for me now until I choose another ski for the second mount (sounds dumb right). Will you be manufacturing more later this winter?

You using Yanke's in Boise? Aceco? I know Aceco might be into something like this. The owners are crazy athletes and into tinkering with all stuff biking and skiing related.
