The Quiver Pic Rerun Thread
This years quiver
Rustler 11: pretty good at everything, great on piste for its width.
Blops 118: chop/crud destroyer, love this ski I hope they make a 108 version sometime.
Wildcat 108: playful dd.

Turbos are relegated to rock ski duty and the Boomerangs are my November pow skis.
Bonafide for groomer zooming.
Bodacious for everything else. The black 186s are spares for when the OGs die, the 196 will get 916s once I decide where I want the mount. The 193s are a different ski, but still fun in their own right.
And the Spur was too cheap to say no.

Family quiver. As ever - all addition, no subtraction. Kids’ skis get passed down the line from oldest to youngest. Might need a bigger basement.

The wife and I’s quiver for this year. Still need some bindings for the Hojis and the scouts should stay flat. Otherwise we’re done, for now.

Once in middle school, I went over to my friend Sami's house for a softball team dinner, and her family was super into hunting.
Curiously, they had like literally hundreds of elk heads on every square foot of the walls of the house - the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, garage, falling out of the closets and piled up on the laundry machine. No one had used the treadmill because it was covered in elk heads as soon as they took it out the box. Elk heads everywhere...
This just kinda reminded me of that.

I posted a review/discussion thread for the Forma in tech talk. Here’s the quick and dirty:
Pescado: lighter, more snap/pop, more active and agile in deep pow. The pescado is probably my preference between the two, but I’ve spent far more time on them. They’re lighter on the feet, and swing weight, which definitely favors how I like to ski them.
Forma: heavier, softer, a little better with chopped up snow/groomers(the pescado is surprisingly good on a groomer though). The Forma to me feels a bit more versatile in unpredictable snow, but like I said I haven’t used them nearly as much.

I ordered tongues from Freeheel Life in SLC:
https://www.freeheellife.com/collect...nt-tongue-pair
Unfortunately it looks like they only have the 29.5-30.0 size left, but it might be worth emailing them and asking if they're getting another shipment of parts in, or if they're holding some parts in reserve for their demo boots that they'd be willing to let go. The tongues definitely do make the boots a little stiffer, but of course the bellow flex doesn't change. I've never skied Comps, so not sure I can make a great stiffness comparison really.
I think they were a special edition in 2011 or so. Splintery carbon sidewalls and almost no damping at all, although maybe all the Pures were like that. I got them from BanditMan for cheap (thanks!) and got plenty of practice with base welds. A month ago, I filled the previous two mounts with hardwood dowels because I was sure the 22D inserts were going to overlap with old holes, and then of course they didn't.kittyhump.com - Fund Max, Cat Appreciation, Bike
